Aims Power 5000 Watt 240Vac 60hz Power Inverter - PWRINV5K24012W

This 5000 watt 12 volt DC to 220/230/240 volt AC (60 hz)  power inverter by AIMS Power converts DC (direct current) power stored by batteries into AC (alternating current) electricity that can be used to run practically any household appliances or tools. This inverter will NOT product 120 volts. It is only for 240 volt AC applications. See PWRINV500012W for applications needing 120 volt AC.

This unit produces a modified sine wave, which is capable of running most  tools, pumps, motors and appliances that operate at 240 volts AC. Use this product for off-grid back-up power at home, cabin, boat, larger solar systems or anywhere that doesn't have city power.

What really makes this 5000 watt AIMS Power inverter special is its capability to run off of most vehicles’ and/or RVs'/boats' standard power systems at 12 volts. That makes the inverter very attractive to mobile business owners since users don’t have to modify a vehicle’s standard power system in order to run the inverter off of a car or truck. This definitely saves some money if upgrading a fleet of vehicles with some aftermarket equipment that requires this much power.

Some of the popular mobile business applications include powering a small mobile office or kitchen, running tools on a work truck or construction vehicle, or supplying electricity to lawn maintenance equipment. The biggest incentives for business owners to use inverters for electricity include the fact that they make little-to-no noise, making for a more peaceful environment for customers, and that they’re non-polluting, which makes for a great green-energy marketing campaign.

The unit features two easily-accessible AC outlets with a maximum output of 1500 watts. The 200 percent surge capabilities of this unit should only be used as a safety feature. Other safety features include over-temperature and over-load LED indicators that are used as a warning system for the operator.  Also on the AC side of the unit are the battery voltage and amperage meters which display the usage levels of your battery bank. This inverter is equipped with dual cooling fans and over-temperature protection that keeps it from overheating.

Q&A

Q: What is the AIMS Power PWRINV5K24012W used for?
A: This 5000W power inverter converts 12V DC battery power into 240V AC (60Hz), making it ideal for off-grid cabins, well pumps, water pumps, workshops, backup power systems, and remote industrial applications.

Q: What devices can this 5000-watt inverter run?
A: It can power 240V equipment such as well pumps, motors, compressors, tools, and other high-demand appliances within its 5000W continuous output rating.

Q: Is this a pure sine wave inverter?
A: No. The PWRINV5K24012W uses modified sine wave technology, making it best suited for pumps, motors, and many industrial or backup power applications.

Q: What is the surge power capacity?
A: It delivers 5000 watts continuous power and up to 10,000 watts peak surge power to handle equipment startup loads.

Q: Does this inverter provide both 120V and 240V output?
A: No. This model provides single-phase 240V AC output only and cannot be configured to supply 120V AC power.

Q: What protection features are included?
A: It includes overload, over-temperature, short-circuit, low-voltage, and over-voltage protection for reliable operation and equipment safety.

Maintenance Tips
  • Install the inverter in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated area to prevent overheating.
  • Keep cooling vents and the thermally controlled fan free of dust and debris for optimal airflow.
  • Inspect 12V battery cables, terminals, and fuse connections regularly; tighten loose connections and clean corrosion.
  • Monitor the built-in volt and amp meters to identify low battery voltage or excessive power draw early.
  • Avoid exceeding the 5000W continuous rating or 10,000W surge capacity to reduce stress on internal components.
  • Check for overheating, overload, or fault indicators during operation and address issues promptly.
  • Protect the unit from moisture, vibration, direct sunlight, and extreme temperatures.
  • Inspect wiring and AC connections periodically for wear, discoloration, or heat damage.
  • Test the inverter under load occasionally to verify stable 240V output and proper system performance.
  • Follow the manufacturer’s installation, safety, and maintenance recommendations to maximize inverter lifespan and reliability.
