Aims Power AGM 12V 200Ah Deep Cycle Battery Heavy Duty - AGM12V200A

This 12V AGM battery is a heavy duty, deep cycle battery ideal for back-up power, golf carts and stored power applications. Affordable without compromising quality, this battery will provide power for years. This heavy duty rechargeable battery is made of AGM lead lead dioxide technology. The extra thick lead plates in this battery allow for a deeper discharge with less harm to the battery and provides 20% more charge/discharge cycles compared to other AGM batteries.  AGM batteries have less instant energy, but greater long-term energy delivery.   The dilute sulfuric acid electrolyte is absorbed by separators and plates, thus immobilized. Should the battery be accidentally overcharged producing hydrogen and oxygen, special one-way valves allow the gases to escape, avoiding excessive pressure build-up. Otherwise, the battery is completely sealed and is, therefore, maintenance-free, leak-proof and usable in any position. Perfect for applications requiring large amounts of power and much longer run time.

Starting batteries, such as car batteries should not be used for deep cycle applications because of the thinner plates in these batteries. They are more prone to warping and pitting when discharged.

You can connect these batteries in series or parallel depending on DC voltage needed. Most common voltages are 12, 24, 36 and 48V.

  • Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) technology provides maintenance-free operation with improved safety and reduced risk of leakage.
  • Deep-cycle performance supports repeated charging and discharging, making it ideal for off-grid energy storage applications.
  • Strong compatibility with inverters and solar systems ensures stable power delivery under continuous load conditions.
  • Heavy-duty construction is designed to withstand vibration, shocks, and demanding environmental conditions.
  • Low self-discharge rate helps maintain charge during storage, making it suitable for seasonal or standby use.
  • Scalable battery solution can be connected in series or parallel to expand system capacity as energy needs grow.
  • Dependable choice for budget-conscious off-grid setups where durability and consistent performance are essential.

Q&A

Q: What is the AIMS Power AGM12V200A used for?
A: Aims Power AGM 12V 200Ah Deep Cycle Battery Heavy Duty - AGM12V200A is a sealed deep-cycle battery designed for off-grid solar systems, RV power storage, backup power, marine use, and renewable energy applications.

Q: How much energy storage does this battery provide?
A: It delivers 12V at 200Ah capacity, providing approximately 2.4 kWh of stored energy for powering inverters, appliances, and DC systems.

Q: What type of battery technology is used?
A: It uses AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) lead-acid technology, where electrolyte is absorbed into fiberglass mats for a sealed, maintenance-free design.

Q: Is this battery suitable for solar power systems?
A: Yes. It is commonly used in 12V off-grid solar setups for storing energy generated by solar panels and supplying power through inverters.

Q: What are the advantages of AGM deep-cycle batteries?
A: AGM batteries offer spill-proof construction, low self-discharge, good cycle life, and the ability to be mounted in multiple orientations without maintenance.

Q: Can this battery be used in parallel or series systems?
A: Yes. Multiple AGM12V200A batteries can be wired in series (for higher voltage) or parallel (for higher capacity) depending on system requirements.

Q: What devices can it power?
A: It can support inverters running lights, refrigerators, fans, communication equipment, small appliances, and off-grid systems depending on load size.

Q: What protection or durability features does it have?
A: It includes sealed construction, vibration resistance, low self-discharge, and robust lead-calcium grid design for long-term reliability in backup and cyclic use.

Q: What makes this battery suitable for heavy-duty use?
A: Its thick plate design, deep-cycle capability, and ~10-year design life make it suitable for demanding solar and backup power environments.

Maintenance Tips
  • Store and operate in a cool, dry environment (ideally 20–25°C) to reduce capacity loss and extend service life.
  • Keep batteries fully charged whenever possible; avoid long periods in a discharged or partially charged state.
  • Inspect terminals, bolts, and cable connections regularly; tighten and clean any corrosion to maintain low resistance.
  • Use a proper AGM-compatible charger (14.4–14.7V bulk/absorption range) to prevent undercharging or overcharging.
  • Limit continuous discharge depth (recommended ~50% DoD) to significantly improve cycle life.
  • Ensure proper ventilation in enclosed battery banks to prevent heat buildup during heavy load or charging.
  • Check for swelling, leakage, or case deformation—replace immediately if any physical damage appears.
  • Avoid exposing the battery to extreme temperatures below -20°C or above 60°C during operation or storage.
  • Keep batteries clean and dry; dust or moisture on the case can lead to self-discharge paths.
  • Use identical batteries (same age, capacity, and type) when connecting in series or parallel for balanced performance.
  • Periodically test resting voltage (healthy fully charged AGM ≈ 12.7–12.9V) to monitor battery health
