Maintenance Tips

• Regular Cleaning: Clean the fabric with a soft brush or cloth after each use to remove dirt, dust, and debris. For tougher stains, use a mild soap solution and water. Rinse thoroughly to prevent detergent buildup.
• Dry Before Storing: Always ensure the awning is completely dry before packing it away to avoid the growth of mold and mildew. If it gets wet, allow it to dry fully in a well-ventilated area before storing.
• Inspect for Damage: Regularly inspect the fabric and seams for any rips, tears, or wear. Patch up any small damage immediately to prevent further deterioration.
• Frame Maintenance: Check the frame for any bends, rust, or signs of wear. Clean the metal parts with a damp cloth and apply a rust-resistant spray if needed. Repair or replace damaged frame components promptly.
• Zippers and Fasteners: Lubricate the zippers with a silicone-based lubricant to keep them functioning smoothly. Inspect all fasteners, clips, and hooks for wear, and replace any that are damaged.
• Proper Storage: When not in use, store the Falcon 270 Awning in a dry, cool place. Avoid folding or compressing it too tightly to prevent creases and potential fabric damage.
• Wind and Weather Protection: Always collapse the awning in high winds or adverse weather conditions to prevent damage. If you anticipate strong winds, consider securing the awning or removing it temporarily.
• UV Protection: To protect the fabric from UV damage, consider using a UV protectant spray. This will help prevent fading and degradation caused by prolonged exposure to the sun.
• Check Attachment Points: Inspect the attachment points where the awning connects to the vehicle or tent. Ensure all clips, straps, and mounting hardware are secure, and replace any worn or damaged components.
• Annual Servicing: Have the awning professionally serviced or thoroughly inspected at least once a year, especially if it sees frequent use. This can help detect any issues before they become major problems.
