Despite the Safe's Small Size, it's Built Like a Tank
Say hello to the newest addition to the BF series, the compact BFS912. Traditionally, safes of this size lack any serious burglary or fire protection, yet AMSEC was able to combine both in one tough safe.
ETL Verified, this safe earned a fire rating of 80 minutes at 1775°! This is accomplished in this small size due to a unique fire resistant barrier.
In terms of security, the body of the BF compact is comprised of 1-3/4" double wall steel construction, a 3/16" steel barrier, and an Interlock fire-safe jamb. The door is protected by a 3/16" solid steel plate with a massive hard plate and two relocking devices. The bolts consist of three 3/8" x 1" active steel locking bolts and three more 3/8" x 1" steel dead bolts.
The lock on this safe is AMSEC's ESL5LP Type 1 high security electronic lock with an illuminated keypad and 15 minute lockout penalty.

Regular Cleaning: Clean the exterior and interior of the safe with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove dust, dirt, and debris. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals that may damage the surface finish.
Lubricate the Lock Mechanism: Apply graphite powder to the lock mechanism and moving parts (avoid oil-based lubricants). This helps to ensure smooth operation and prevents dust buildup, which can affect the lock's functionality.
Inspect the Lock and Key: Test the lock regularly to ensure it functions correctly. If there are any issues with the locking mechanism or the key, contact a professional locksmith to address them before they cause further damage.
Check for Moisture: Monitor the interior for any signs of moisture, especially if stored in a humid environment. Use silica gel packets or a dehumidifier to absorb moisture and prevent rust or mold from forming inside the safe.
Inspect Fire Seal: Regularly check the fire-resistant seal around the door. Ensure it remains intact and properly seated to maintain the safe’s fire resistance. Replace the seal if it shows signs of wear or damage.
Test the Fire Protection: Periodically review the safe’s fire resistance rating. If the safe has been exposed to extreme heat, have it professionally inspected to confirm the integrity of the fire protection features.
Inspect the Bolts: Check the bolt work regularly to ensure the bolts move freely and engage properly when closing the safe. If the bolts are sticking or misaligned, tighten or adjust the necessary components.
Secure the Safe: If your safe is not already bolted down, ensure it is securely fastened to a wall or floor to prevent theft or tampering. This will enhance the security of your safe.
Avoid Overloading: Ensure the contents of the safe do not exceed the recommended weight limit, as this can stress the locking mechanism and reduce the effectiveness of the safe.
