Clean the Exterior – Wipe down the exterior with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove dust, dirt, and fingerprints. Use a mild cleaner, but avoid harsh chemicals that may damage the finish or surface.
Lubricate the Locking Mechanism – Apply a small amount of lubricant to the locking bolts, hinges, and the biometric scanner to ensure smooth operation. Avoid using too much lubricant, as it can attract dust and debris.
Test the Biometric Scanner – Regularly test the biometric scanner to make sure it accurately reads your fingerprints. If the scanner isn't responding properly, clean the sensor gently with a dry microfiber cloth to remove any buildup of oils or dust.
Check and Replace Batteries – Replace the biometric scanner’s batteries at least once a year, or sooner if you notice any performance issues. Keep spare batteries on hand in case of emergencies.
Inspect for Loose Parts – Periodically check screws, bolts, and hinges to ensure they are secure. Tighten any loose components to maintain the safe’s integrity and security.
Monitor Interior Humidity – Use a moisture absorber or silica gel packs inside the safe to control humidity and prevent rust or moisture damage, especially if storing firearms, documents, or electronics.
Inspect the Door Seal – Check the door’s seal for any wear or damage. A compromised seal can affect the safe’s fire and waterproof capabilities. Clean and maintain the seal to ensure it functions properly.
Ensure Proper Door Closure – Make sure the door closes fully and securely. If the door feels misaligned or doesn't close easily, check for obstructions or issues with the hinges and the locking mechanism.
Store in a Stable, Dry Location – Place the safe in a cool, dry area with minimal fluctuations in temperature and humidity. This will help prevent condensation inside the safe and protect its contents from moisture damage.
Perform Security Checks – Periodically test the safe’s locking system and biometric scanner to ensure it is functioning correctly. Make sure the locking bolts engage properly when closing the door.
