The heart of any SawStop Saw is the skin contact detection. The blade carries a small electrical signal that is continuously monitored by a digital signal processor. The signal changes when it comes in contact with skin since the human body is conductive. This triggers the quick release aluminum brake. A heavy-duty spring forces the brake into the teeth of the spinning blade, stopping it instantly.
Multi-v-ribbed belts transfer motor power and provide more torque with less vibration. SawStop engineers have meticulously designed the under table assemblies for maximum performance. A gas piston carries the weight of the internal mechanism, allowing the operator to effortlessly raise or lower the blade. Additionally, the trunnions and motor are perfectly balanced for precise tilt adjustments.
The 52" Industrial T-Glide Advance Rip Fence delivers accuracy, versatility, ease of use, and safety like no other rip fence on the market. It uses a Hi-Low aluminum face made for use in three positions: high (standard), low, and as an L-fence. A dovetailed-shaped groove allows you to mount feather boards, sacrificial fences, jigs, and other accessories.
Pair with the optional Mobile Base to maximize flexibility without forfeiting a reliably solid cutting surface!
