SCM Nova SI 400 Sliding Table Saw

  • Freight included in price*
  • In stock as of 12.22.25

The Nova SI 400 is SCM’s best-selling sliding table saw. This robust machine is ideal for professional shops and tradespeople who process sheet goods like plywood, MDF, and OSB. With a 10.5 ft. squaring stroke and an impressive 11HP, 3-phase motor, the Nova SI 400 is built to handle material as thick as 5.5” (140mm).

Along with a maximum blade capacity of 16” (400mm), the Nova SI 400 also features a scoring unit that accepts a 4.7” (120mm) expandable scoring blade. The scoring blade makes a preliminary cut designed to give the main blade a cleaner cutting path. This prevents tearout and is excellent for smooth, chip-free cuts in melamine and veneered plywood panels.

Many sliding table saw manufacturers bolt the blade assembly parts to the saw or have them pivoting on a pin. This often causes misalignment, which results in uneven, splintered cuts. SCM eliminates the possibility of misalignment by fully encasing the blade unit in a cast-iron structure. This robust structure nearly eliminates vibration and ensures perfect alignment of both the main blade and scoring blade.

The Nova SI 400 has a wider sliding table with channels for added versatility compared to SCM's Minimax line. The sliding system is made up of steel ball bearings running on tempered and calibrated steel guideways. These guideways are embedded into the aluminum extrusions (no adhesive used) and are designed to last the life of the machine with no adjustments needed.

The Nova SI 400 features a telescopic squaring fence with two flip-over stops for fast referencing when cutting workpieces with the same dimensions. This fence also features a swinging arm support, a steel idle roller to help with panel loading/unloading, and a metric ruler tilted towards the operator.

Utilize SCM's Thundercut App to get the most out of the Nova SI 400. This app is compatible with iOS and Android operating systems, and allows you to:

  • Manage stock material and guides you through the cut
  • Create and modify projects, import projects from the main furniture design software ("cpout" file format), and import cutting lists
  • Choose different cutting patterns based on the app's suggestions, such as "minimum waste," "maximum speed," etc.
  • Set cuts based on the app's 3D sequencer that guides you with step-by-step instructions
  • View machine configuration in 2D or 3D
  • Print panel labels

When purchased, installation will be performed by an SCM factory-trained service technician or certified dealer technician. Installation is defined as assembling the machine to its "ready-to-run" state; it does not include floor/masonry work or running electrical, pneumatic, or dust extraction services. Training will be conducted on site by the technician after installation is completed.
