The Sharp KC860U Plasmacluster Ion Air Purifier with True HEPA Filtration and Humidification offers a unique combination of air treatment technologies and a one-touch automatic air quality control system to make you and your family more comfortable all year round. The automatic air quality control system of this large-sized room humidifying air purifier uses sensors to constantly monitor the air quality in your room, adjusting for air purity and optimum humidity level, and will also indicate when filters should be cleaned.
The KC860U helps remove pollutants and common allergens such as pollen, dust, pet dander, and smoke with an ultra-quiet fan that draws air through a three-stage filter system including a permanent micro-mesh pre-filter, washable activated carbon filter, and a long-life True HEPA filter, which captures 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns from the air that passes through it.
When used in humidify mode, the unit can help relieve congestion, cough, and dry and swollen nasal passages. The water tank for the built-in humidifier is easily removed from the side of the unit and can be filled at the sink with tap water. The indicator light blinks on the control panel when the tank is low. It is best used in a large-sized bedroom, living room, study, or exercise room. Sharp's Plasmacluster Ion Technology Air Purifier is not only ARB Certified. It also produces 5X less ozone (at less than .001 ppm) than the lowest industry and federal standards set by the FDA, OSHA, and NIOSH.
In addition to auto mode, there are 3 manual fan speeds. The Dust, Odor, and Humidity sensors are always monitoring the quality of the air in your room, and the combination displays on the front panel let you check your air quality at a glance. In AUTO mode, the KC860U uses the sensors to automatically react and adjust the fan speed and humidity levels for optimal performance.
