Clean the Concrete Surface: Regularly wipe the concrete with a damp cloth to remove dirt, dust, and stains. For more stubborn stains, use a mild, pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals that can damage the finish and color of the concrete.
Maintain Copper Spillway: Clean the copper spillway using a soft cloth and a copper-safe cleaner to preserve its shine. Applying a protective sealant will help maintain its appearance, or let a natural patina develop for a more rustic look.
Fire Glass Care: Periodically remove the fire glass and clean it with warm, soapy water to remove soot, dirt, and debris. Allow it to dry completely before placing it back to maintain clarity and prevent moisture buildup.
Inspect Burners and Jets: Regularly inspect the burners and water jets for any obstructions or buildup. Clean the components gently with a soft brush to ensure proper water flow and flame performance.
Descale the Water System: If you're using hard water, scale buildup may occur. Use filtered or distilled water to minimize deposits. If scaling happens, apply a descaling solution to clean the water components and keep the system functioning smoothly.
Check Electronic Ignition System: Keep the electronic ignition system clean and dry. Periodically inspect connections and replace any components or batteries as needed to ensure consistent and reliable ignition.
Inspect Gas Connections: Regularly check gas hoses and connections for leaks, cracks, or wear. If you detect a gas smell, immediately turn off the gas supply and contact a professional to check for leaks or necessary repairs.
Protect from the Elements: When the fire bowl is not in use, cover it with a weather-resistant cover to protect it from rain, snow, and UV exposure, helping to preserve the concrete, copper, and other materials.
Seasonal Maintenance: Before long periods of inactivity, turn off the gas supply, drain the water system, and cover the unit to protect it from freezing temperatures or harsh weather conditions.
Use Non-Abrasive Cleaning Tools: To avoid scratching the concrete, copper, or glass surfaces, always use soft cloths and non-abrasive cleaning tools.
