Clean the Concrete Surface: Regularly clean the concrete surface with a damp cloth to remove dirt, dust, and other debris. For more stubborn stains, use a mild, pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that may damage the concrete's finish.
Inspect and Maintain the Electronic Ignition System: Ensure the electronic ignition system is kept clean and dry. Periodically check for corrosion or debris around the connections, and replace any batteries or parts as necessary for reliable performance.
Check Gas Connections: Routinely inspect the gas lines, hoses, and connections for any signs of wear, cracks, or leaks. If you smell gas, immediately turn off the gas supply and contact a professional for inspection and repair.
Fire Glass or Media Maintenance: If the fire bowl uses fire glass or other decorative media, periodically remove it and wash with warm, soapy water to remove soot, dirt, and debris. Be sure to let the media dry completely before returning it to the fire bowl.
Clean the Burner and Venting Area: Regularly check the burner and venting area for any obstructions or debris that may affect flame performance. Use a soft brush to clear away any buildup, ensuring proper airflow and flame distribution.
Descale the Water System: If the unit incorporates water features, use distilled or filtered water to prevent mineral buildup. If you notice scaling, apply a descaling solution to the water system to maintain optimal performance.
Weather Protection: When the fire bowl is not in use, cover it with a weather-resistant cover to protect it from rain, snow, and UV exposure. This will help preserve the concrete and other components, extending the life of the unit.
Inspect for Leaks: After use or following heavy rainfall, inspect the base of the fire bowl for any water accumulation or potential gas leaks. Ensure proper drainage to prevent damage to the internal components.
Seasonal Maintenance: Before periods of non-use, such as during winter, turn off the gas supply, drain any water systems (if applicable), and cover the fire bowl. This will protect it from freezing temperatures, moisture, and other weather-related damages.
Use Non-Abrasive Cleaning Tools: Always use soft cloths, sponges, and non-abrasive cleaning tools to clean the fire bowl to avoid scratching or damaging the concrete, glass, or metal components.
