Clean the Concrete Surface: Wipe the concrete surface regularly with a damp cloth to remove dirt, dust, and debris. For tougher stains, use a mild, pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that could damage the concrete finish.
Inspect the Electronic Ignition System: Ensure the electronic ignition system remains clean and dry. Check the ignition connections periodically for any signs of corrosion or dirt buildup. Replace batteries or any faulty parts as needed to ensure reliable ignition.
Check Gas Connections: Regularly inspect the gas lines, hoses, and connections for any signs of wear, leaks, or cracks. If you smell gas, immediately turn off the gas supply and contact a professional to inspect and repair the system.
Maintain Fire Glass or Media: If the fire bowl uses fire glass or decorative media, remove and clean it periodically with warm, soapy water to remove soot, dirt, and debris. Make sure the media is completely dry before returning it to the fire bowl.
Clean the Burner and Venting Area: Inspect the burner for any obstructions or debris that could affect flame performance. Use a soft brush to remove buildup and ensure proper airflow. Clean the venting area to avoid any blockages.
Descale Water System (if applicable): If your fire bowl has a water feature, ensure you use distilled or filtered water to reduce mineral buildup. If scaling occurs, apply a descaling solution to keep the water system clean and running smoothly.
Weather Protection: When not in use, cover the fire bowl with a weather-resistant cover to protect it from rain, snow, and UV exposure. This helps preserve the concrete and other components, extending the life of the fire bowl.
Inspect for Leaks: After each use or following heavy rainfall, check the base of the fire bowl for any gas leaks or water accumulation. Ensure proper drainage to prevent water from collecting inside and damaging internal components.
Seasonal Maintenance: Before extended periods of non-use, such as winter, turn off the gas supply, drain any water components (if applicable), and cover the fire bowl. This will protect it from freezing temperatures and other weather-related damage.
Use Non-Abrasive Tools: Always clean the concrete surface and other parts with soft cloths, sponges, or non-abrasive tools to avoid scratching or damaging the surfaces.
