The Voile V8 has been crushing so hard in the backcountry for the past 3 years, there was no reason to make any changes. Voile's "Simple, Solid, Backcountry" motto has never been more apparent than in the V8, an American-made, wood-core backcountry ski. This updated progressive design has paved the way for a seriously innovative geometry. These skis crush in-bounds but are lightweight for touring and designed for a huge range of snow conditions. At its core is lightweight Aspen wood, coupled with a carbon fiberglass layer for additional stiffening and a cap construction, allowing this ski to be wide but not cumbersome for those longer days in the hills.

The hardest wood core we employ, Aspen provides a smooth/damp ride on hardish conditions and more readily takes the abuse when things get out of hand.
Increases dimensional stability along three axis.
Our proprietary carbon fiberglass regulates the ski's flex without an impact on bonding strength.
Two lengths of 2mm steel with inset teeth wrap the full perimeter of the skis.
This skis passes on the base graphics for the sake of an ultra-high molecular density base; making for faster downhill performance and greater wear/impact resistance.
