The Minimax CU 410E T is the go-to machine for woodworkers wanting a wider jointer to process larger pieces. This full combination machine has a 16” Jointer/Planer incorporated into it. A large sliding table to process longer sheet goods is standard, and a tilting arbor shaper is also included. This Italian-made machine is heavy duty but is still able to be broken down to save space in a small shop.
The CU 410E T has a massive cast iron blade group. This large design lends extra stability to the main blade and scoring blade. The cast iron blade group tilts on two trunnions to lessen degradation over time, and the main blade and scoring blade raise independently of each other. Scoring is belt driven from the main motor.
A tilting arbor shaper makes this machine even more versatile over the long term. The shaper tilts backwards making it possible to use a powerfeeder more effectively while tilting. The CU 410E T also features a shaper hood that has three controlled axes. The shaper hood has memory pins so that it easily goes right back to the same position if removed from the table. This makes changeover much quicker.
An extra wide sliding table assists in supporting larger panels. Also featured is the sliding table lock which allows the slider to be locked when pulled away from the blade. This makes loading panels much easier.
The CU 410E T comes standard with scoring capability. This allows you to not only accurately cut panels, but cleanly cut them too. This is important when cutting particle board, melamine, laminated panels, or anything else in which you want to apply some sort of edge banding. If you are cutting solid wood, simply drop it below the table surface independently of the main blade. A 12” main blade capacity is featured without having to remove the scoring blade.
The CU 410E T has a 16” Jointer and a 16” Planer. The planer is able to process up to 9” thick material. The Jointer/Planer head also comes standard with a “Tersa” head. The most versatile cutterhead, Tersa has the fastest changeover time thanks to its disposable knife design. The knives are double-sided and lock into place by centrifugal force - no special tools or knife setting required! Just start the machine and the knives automatically index themselves.
This machine comes with a separate miter gauge. This way, for miter cuts, the operator can keep the main crosscut fence at 90° and use the separate miter gauge to do the angled cuts, saving time when mitering small panels. It also comes standard with an interchangeable 1.25” diameter spindle that can be swapped out for spindles of varying diameters to accommodate existing or future tooling.
The CU 410E comes with a cast iron mortiser that adds versatility to this powerful machine. This mortiser is complete with a 120 mm exhaust hood and a 16 mm chuck. The table dimensions for this feature are 470 mm x 230 mm with an X-axis movement of 160 mm, a Y-axis movement of 120 mm and a Z-axis movement of 110 mm stroke.
The saw unit closed loop structure is made of heavy cast iron and is supported firmly under the table by two lateral supports in a crescent shape
Saw unit can be equipped, on request, with a scoring blade for perfect cutting even on veneered panels
Maximum diameter allowed for the main saw is 315 mm with a scoring blade mounted
The 4 standard speeds are ideal for any type of machining, from moulding to routing and tenoning, with the possibility to fit tools up to 275 mm in diameter
Spindle is surrounded by a cast-iron “cup” to protect the internal mechanical components from shavings and sawdust
Memory pins in shaper hood allow it to go back to the same position if removed from the table
Table lock allows the slider to be locked when pulled away from the blade
Tersa knives automatically lock into position when the machine is turned on
Double-sided knives can be flipped over, reinserted, and used again
Cutterhead eliminates the necessity of gauging the knives each time to ensure proper height positioning
The planer unit stands on cast iron supports and the standard version has an 87 mm diameter cutter block with 3 knives
The infeed roller has a helicoidal profile to guarantee firm and constant workpiece feed, while the outfeed roller, in sandblasted steel, maintains the perfect post-processing finishing
Two feed speeds for the standard thicknesser (6 - 12 m/min.)
The planers open towards the circular saw spindle molder side: an ergonomic solution with the minimum amount of space
