The L’invincibile F 7 X is SCM’s most robust and heaviest duty, long bed 20” jointer designed to meet the needs of high production shops. Standard features abound on this machine to make it both as efficient and dependable as possible without sacrificing safety.
All SCM Jointers use aged cast iron tables that are machine polished to the highest tolerances. These castings are ribbed to ensure maximum strength and to avoid problems with the tables warping or breaking during use. The longer tables ensure board straightness. The L’invincibile F 7 X tables are over 118” long to make sure that the workpiece will be straight every time.
All SCM Jointers also incorporate a parallelogram movement of the infeed and outfeed tables. This system has the table height adjustment through a system of four cams (one per corner of support) that pivot on a radius equal to the head radius. This radiused pivot ensures that the table chip breaker remains in the correct position from the head. Some manufacturers use a wedge type movement which allows the table and chip breaker to move away from the head as it is adjusted for more removal. This system allows splintering and a poor quality finish. The SCM Group parallelogram design and engineering eliminates these issues.
This amazing SCM Group L’invincibile Jointer comes with a Xylent cutterhead, the most innovative solution for soundless planning in the world. The 20” cutterhead version comes with a spiral knife cutterblock with 3 series of knives, totaling 84 plates of 15 x 15 x 2.5 mm. These are four self-locking and self-centering screw knives. With each cutterhead you will also receive 1 dynamometric key for the correct and safe use of the locking mechanism (think of a mini torque wrench). Additionally, you will receive two inserts for the dynamometric key.
The standard guard offered on the L’invincibile F 7 X is a specially designed European Cutterhead Guard which passes all American safety standards. The guard moves out of position automatically to accommodate your workpiece as it passes underneath the guard for face jointing and also for edge jointing. This guard always covers the unused portion of the knife. Other European style guards require the guard to be manually moved into place when the fence is readjusted or when the workpiece must pass through. When processing thick wood, or edge jointing, this does not cover the blade completely.
