CleanFreak Reliable 14" Auto Scrubber Heavy Duty Tynex Floor Scrubbing & Stripping Brush - IES-SPPV02658

This extremely aggressive tynex floor scrubbing brush is used with the CleanFreak Reliable 14 auto scrubber to strip commercially finished floors and scrub bare concrete. It is an extremely heavy duty brush that could harm normal tile flooring. Hands free mounting & dismounting make changing out brushes a breeze.

Tynex bristled brushes should only be considered for extreme heavy duty scrubbing and stripping applications. They should only on concrete floors, and in other areas where your floor can't be damaged. If you're in doubt whether you can use this brush on your floor or not, we recommend testing it in a small inconspicuous area before scrubbing a large area. This brush should be run in a wet environment at all times. It comes with a red wear indicator that tells you when the brush should be replaced.

For more scrubbing options, we have a 14" nylon scrub brush that is good for everyday scrubbing and will not harm tiled floors. We also have a 14" pad driver available for this machine, if you'd like to use scrubbing or stripping pads with it.  This brush formerly had a part # of IES-SPPV01482.

What our Experts Think
  • Ultra-aggressive scrubbing & stripping brush — The Tynex bristles are embedded with abrasive grit, making this 14" brush ideal for heavy-duty floor stripping and deep scrubbing on tough commercial surfaces.
  • Built specifically for the CleanFreak Reliable 14 auto scrubber — Ensures proper fit, balanced operation, and consistent performance on both battery and electric units.
  • Designed for concrete & non-sensitive flooring only — Best used on sealed concrete, industrial floors, and other durable surfaces where aggressive abrasion won’t cause damage.
  • Strips coatings faster than standard nylon brushes — The embedded abrasive grit helps remove wax, finish, and heavy soil buildup in fewer passes.
  • Wet-use only for optimal performance — Requires continuous moisture during operation to protect both the floor surface and maximize cleaning efficiency.
  • Wear indicator included for maintenance control — Built-in red indicator signals when brush replacement is needed, helping maintain consistent cleaning results.
  • Best suited for restoration & prep work — Ideal for stripping old finishes before recoating, or tackling heavily soiled industrial environments.
  • Not intended for delicate or finished tile floors — Too aggressive for standard VCT, LVT, or polished tile surfaces; nylon brushes are preferred for everyday cleaning

Q&A

Q: What is the CleanFreak 14" Tynex Heavy Duty Scrubbing & Stripping Brush used for?
A: This brush is designed for aggressive scrubbing and stripping on compatible 14" CleanFreak Reliable auto scrubbers, especially for heavy-duty floor restoration work.

Q: What surfaces can this brush be used on?
A: It is intended for concrete and other durable industrial floors where coatings, dirt, and buildup need to be removed. It should only be used on surfaces that will not be damaged by aggressive abrasion.

Q: Can it be used on tile or vinyl flooring?
A: No. The Tynex abrasive bristles are very aggressive and may damage standard tile, VCT, and other finished flooring materials.

Q: What makes the Tynex bristles different from nylon brushes?
A: Tynex bristles are embedded with abrasive grit, making them much more effective for stripping finishes and deep scrubbing than standard nylon brushes.

Q: Is this brush for daily cleaning?
A: No. It is designed for heavy-duty stripping and restoration work, not routine maintenance cleaning.

Q: Does it work wet or dry?
A: It must always be used in a wet cleaning environment to ensure proper performance and prevent surface damage.

Q: How do I know when to replace it?
A: It includes a red wear indicator that signals when the bristles are worn and the brush needs replacement.

Maintenance Tips
  • Rinse the Tynex brush thoroughly after each use to remove dirt, slurry, and chemical residue buildup.
  • Inspect bristles regularly for wear, matting, or uneven length—replace when the red wear indicator is reached.
  • Use only on compatible hard surfaces (e.g., concrete or approved industrial floors) to avoid damaging delicate tile or finished floors.
  • Ensure proper wet operation during use to reduce heat buildup and extend bristle life.
  • Clean the brush hub and mounting points to prevent debris from affecting scrubber performance or balance.
  • Rotate brush use if possible to promote even bristle wear across the full 14" width.
  • Store dry and off the floor to prevent bristle deformation and moisture-related degradation
