Aardwolf Forklift Booms - FB1- 2720

The Aardwolf Forklift Boom FB-1 is a forklift attachment made from high-grade Australian rectangular tube steel, AS1163-450 LO, which ensures strength, reliability and safety. The FB-1 is the smaller of forklift booms Ardwolf offers and has the lifting capacity over 3,000 pounds and over a 1,000 pounds fully extended. The Aardwolf forklift booms compliment the patented range of Aardwolf lifting clamps. The Forklift Boom FB1-2720 is a telescoping two-section rectangular tube steel boom for use on 2 ton and 2.5 ton forklift trucks. It offers versatility with maximum visibility for the driver.

Features
  • Maximum load capacity, fully retracted - 3307 LBS, fully extended - 1102 LBS.
  • Manually telescopes from 1.610 M to 2.724 M in 2 increments of 27".
  • Boom extension is designed so it cannot be pulled all the way out.
  • The boom is firmly secure onto fork blades by two bolts located at the back of each fork pocket and restraint pins.
Specifications
  • Weight - 200 Lbs
  • Slip on the forks design with fork pockets 6" wide x 2.3" high.
  • Fork pockets are 13.3" to centers.
  • Packaged Volume: 0.2929 M3.
  • Net Weight: 200.6 LBS.
  • Gross Weight: 202.8 LBS.
What our Experts Think
  • Heavy-duty forklift attachment built for real industrial lifting, the Aardwolf FB1-2720 Forklift Boom is engineered for safe handling of stone slabs, glass panels, steel materials, and general site loads in warehouse and construction environments.
  • Telescopic 2-section boom design extends from approximately 1,610 mm to 2,724 mm, giving operators flexible reach while maintaining compact handling when retracted.
  • Optimized for 2.0โ€“2.5 tonne forklifts, making it a standard-fit solution for most mid-size industrial forklifts used in fabrication and logistics operations.
  • Adjustable load capacity for safer lifting control, with higher capacity in retracted position and reduced WLL at full extension, supporting safer real-world use planning.
  • High-strength steel construction (AS1163-450 LO) ensures durability, stability, and long service life even under frequent heavy-duty use.
  • Secure fork-mounted locking system with mechanical restraint pins helps prevent slippage and improves operator confidence during lifting tasks.
  • Compact transport-friendly design (~91 kg unit weight) makes it easy to store, move, and deploy when needed without complex setup.
Q&A

Q: What is the Aardwolf Forklift Boom FB1-2720 used for?
A: It is a telescopic forklift attachment designed for lifting and positioning heavy materials such as stone slabs, glass, and steel using a 2โ€“2.5 ton forklift.

Q: What forklifts is the FB1-2720 compatible with?
A: It is designed for 2.0โ€“2.5 tonne forklifts with standard fork pockets for secure mounting.

Q: What is the length range of the boom?
A: The boom extends from approximately 1,610 mm to 2,724 mm in telescopic sections.

Q: What is the load capacity of the FB1-2720?
A: It supports up to 2,000 kg when retracted and about 600 kg when fully extended, depending on forklift capacity and setup.

Q: How does the boom ensure safety during use?
A: It includes mechanical locking pins and a secure fork-mount system to prevent slippage and unintended extension.

Q: What material is it made from?
A: It is constructed from high-strength rectangular Australian steel (AS1163-450 LO) for durability and long service life.

Q: Does the FB1-2720 improve operator visibility?
A: Yes, its compact telescopic design is engineered to maintain clear visibility during lifting operations in tight spaces.

Q: Is the extension fully removable?
A: No, the telescopic extension is designed to prevent full pull-out for added operational safety.

Maintenance Tips
  • Inspect before each use for cracks, bends, or wear on the boom, fork pockets, and locking pins.
  • Ensure telescopic sections slide smoothly and locking pins engage fully at each position.
  • Clean regularly to remove dust, stone debris, and grease buildup that may affect locking or sliding mechanisms.
  • Lightly lubricate telescopic rails and moving contact points to maintain smooth extension/retraction.
  • Check fork pocket bolts, restraint pins, and safety fasteners are tight and undamaged.
  • Verify rated load limits at each extension stage and never exceed the Working Load Limit (WLL).
  • Store in a dry area to prevent corrosion of high-strength steel components.
  • Remove from service immediately if deformation, cracking, or locking failure is detected.
