Aardwolf Slab Lifter 75 Rollers - AL75R
The patented Aardwolf Slab Lifter is an accessory for lifting and moving slab-form loads. The Aardwolf Slab Lifter incorporates a spring-loaded latch that automatically releases the lifter from the slab once the slab has been fully lowered to the ground. This make the process of lifting and lowering of slabs a one man operation.
Features
- Size: Being of a compact construction, the Aardwolf Slab Lifter AL75 allows for close packed stone slabs to be lifted out of racks and containers. Lower height slabs placed along side of taller slabs offer no problem, as is the case with scissor clamps.
- Versatile: Ideal for construction work. Because the clamping mechanism is to the front of the slab, they allow panels to be placed close against walls.
- Safety: Requires only a small movement of the slab to engage and grip the slab, which is generally well below the over balance angle thus eliminating the danger to the operator.
- Secure: The Aardwolf clamps grip marble and granite slabs firmly. The Aardwolf Slab Lifter AL75 has a force-multiplying factor of approximately 2.5 to 1.
What our Experts Think
-
Heavy-duty slab handling upgrade for professional stone yards, the Aardwolf AL75R Slab Lifter with 75 mm rollers is engineered for safe vertical lifting and transport of granite, marble, and engineered stone slabs in fabrication and construction environments.
-
Integrated side roller system allows smooth positioning along slab edges, helping reduce chipping risk while enabling precise centering during pick-and-place operations.
-
Automatic locking latch mechanism ensures a secure grip during lifting and a self-release action once the slab is fully lowered, supporting efficient one-person operation.
-
High load performance (up to 1200 kg / 2646 lb WLL) makes it suitable for heavy commercial slabs while maintaining a strong safety factor of approximately 2.5:1.
-
Grip range of 30–75 mm (1.2”–3”) covers standard slab thicknesses used in countertops, wall panels, and large-format stone installations.
-
Non-marking rubber clamp pads protect finished surfaces, helping maintain slab quality during frequent handling and movement.
-
Compact, front-clamping design allows slabs to be lifted from tightly packed racks and positioned close to walls, improving workflow efficiency in confined spaces.
Q&A
Q: What is the Aardwolf Slab Lifter 75 Rollers (AL75R) used for?
A: The AL75R is designed for safe lifting and moving of stone slabs such as granite and marble, especially in fabrication shops, warehouses, and construction sites.
Q: How does the AL75R operate?
A: It uses a spring-loaded automatic locking system that grips the slab during lifting and releases it once the slab is fully lowered, enabling efficient one-person operation.
Q: What is the function of the rollers on the AL75R?
A: The integrated rollers help protect the slab edge and allow smoother alignment and positioning when engaging or centering the lifter on the slab.
Q: What is the grip range of the AL75R?
A: It is designed for slab thicknesses of approximately 30–75 mm (about 1"–3").
Q: What is the load capacity of the AL75R?
A: The working load limit is around 1200 kg (2646 lbs), depending on setup and usage conditions.
Q: What materials can it handle?
A: It is suitable for handling natural and engineered stone slabs including granite, marble, and similar dense materials used in construction and fabrication.
Q: What are the key safety benefits of the AL75R?
A: It grips with minimal slab movement below the over-balance angle, reducing operator risk and improving handling stability during lifting.
Maintenance Tips
- Inspect roller wheels regularly for cracks, flat spots, wear, or buildup of stone dust and slurry.
- Ensure rollers rotate freely and are properly aligned for smooth slab handling.
- Clean rollers, frame, and contact surfaces after each use to prevent grip loss and surface damage.
- Check lifting arms, pivot points, and safety locking mechanisms for wear, deformation, or looseness.
- Lubricate all moving joints and pivot points periodically with light machine oil (avoid contamination of rollers).
- Verify that the rated 75 mm slab thickness capacity (approx.) and WLL limits are not exceeded.
- Tighten all bolts, pins, and fasteners regularly, especially after heavy lifting operations.
- Inspect rubber or protective contact points (if fitted) and replace when worn to prevent slab marking.
- Store in a dry, clean environment to reduce corrosion and extend service life.
- Remove from service immediately if structural damage, roller failure, or locking issues are detected.
