Aardwolf Slab Lifter Automatic Β - AL75A

Aardwolf offers a new version of its patented Aardwolf Slab Lifters. The new Aardwolf Slab Lifter Automatic AL75A has an integrated auto-lock, unlock mechanism (patent pending), which allows the clamp to automatically grip slabs on pick-up and release the slabs on set down. In many situations, this makes moving and handling of slabs safer and more convenient.

Features
  • Size: Being of compact construction, the Aardwolf Slab Lifter Automatic AL75A allows for close packed stone slabs to be lifted out of racks and containers. Lower height slabs placed along side of taller slabs offer no problem, as is the case with scissor clamps.
  • Versatile: Ideal for construction work. Because the clamping mechanism is to the front of the slab, they allow panels to be placed close against walls.
  • Safety: Requires only a small movement of the slab to engage and grip the slab, which is generally well below the over balance angle thus eliminating the danger to the operator.
  • Secure: The Aardwolf clamps grip marble and granite slabs firmly. The Aardwolf Slab Lifter Automatic AL75A has a force-multiplying factor of approximately 2.5 toΒ
What our Experts Think
  • Next-generation automatic slab lifter, the Aardwolf AL75A is designed for safe, fast, and efficient handling of granite, marble, quartz, and engineered stone slabs in fabrication yards and installation sites.
  • Fully automatic lock-and-release system grips the slab during lifting and releases it when set down, reducing manual steps and improving workflow safety.
  • High load capacity of 1200 kg (2646 lb) with a strong force-multiplying clamp design (~2.5:1 grip ratio) ensures secure handling of heavy slabs.
  • Wide grip range of 30–75 mm (1.2"–3") makes it suitable for standard countertop and large-format stone slabs.
  • Integrated roller guidance system (on AL75A variants) helps protect slab edges and allows smoother positioning and manual centering during lifting.
  • Compact, front-clamping design allows slabs to be lifted from tightly packed racks and positioned closer to walls, improving workflow efficiency.
  • Safety-focused engagement geometry reduces operator risk by gripping below the over-balance angle, improving stability during lift operations.
Q&A

Q: What is the Aardwolf Slab Lifter Automatic AL75A used for?
A: The AL75A is an automatic clamp designed for safe lifting and transport of granite, marble, quartz, and engineered stone slabs in fabrication shops, warehouses, and construction sites.

Q: How does the AL75A automatic system work?
A: It features an integrated gravity-activated auto-lock and unlock mechanism that automatically grips the slab during lifting and releases it when set down, reducing manual handling.

Q: What is the grip range of the AL75A?
A: The clamp handles slab thicknesses from 30–75 mm (1.2"–3").

Q: What is the load capacity of the AL75A?
A: It has a working load limit of 1200 kg (2646 lb).

Q: What are the key safety and performance features?
A: It requires minimal slab movement to engage (below the over-balance angle), includes a strong force-multiplying grip (~2.5:1), and is designed for secure handling of stone slabs in tight storage or rack spaces.

Q: Does it include rollers for positioning?
A: Yes. The AL75A typically includes edge rollers to help center and position the clamp smoothly along slab edges during engagement.

Q: What materials can it handle?
A: It is suitable for natural and engineered stone materials such as granite, marble, quartz, and similar slabs used in fabrication and construction.

Maintenance Tips
  • Inspect automatic locking system before each use for proper engagement, wear, or misalignment.
  • Check gripping pads/jaws for wear, glazing, or contamination and replace when grip performance decreases.
  • Clean jaws, frame, and moving components after use to remove stone dust, slurry, and debris.
  • Ensure pivot points, linkages, and automatic mechanism move freely without obstruction.
  • Lubricate all moving joints and mechanical linkages regularly with light machine oil (avoid contact with gripping surfaces).
  • Verify all pins, bolts, and safety components are tight and properly secured before lifting.
  • Never exceed the rated 75 mm slab thickness capacity (approx.) and WLL limits.
  • Inspect lifting eye and structural frame for cracks, deformation, or excessive wear.
  • Store in a dry, covered area to prevent corrosion and maintain smooth automatic operation.
  • Remove from service immediately if locking failure, slippage, or structural damage is detected.
