Aardwolf Spreader Bar - 3.5 Tons - ASB35T

Specifically designed for the stone industry. The Spreader Bar, in combination with endless slings, is an invaluable piece of equipment where stone is required to be rolled over. The slings are suspended on crowned aluminium rollers. This makes turning the load in the sling easier. The rollers will handle up to 90mm wide slings. The swivel hooks can be used in place of rollers. The overall width is 2000mm.

Features
  • Adjustable lifting points
  • Handle both wide and unbalanced loads
  • Optional: Swivel hooks and shackles
What our Experts Think
  • Designed for safe, balanced lifting of large stone slabs, glass, and engineered materials using crane and sling systems.
  • 3,500 kg (3.5-ton / 7,716 lb) working load limit makes it suitable for heavy-duty fabrication and site lifting operations.
  • Built to distribute load evenly, reducing stress on slings and protecting delicate slab edges during lifting and rotation.
  • Features adjustable lifting points, allowing operators to balance wide or uneven loads with greater precision.
  • Equipped with crowned aluminum roller sling guides, helping slings self-center and improving load control during lifting and “rolling” operations.
  • Compatible with endless webbing slings up to ~90 mm width, supporting standard stone industry rigging setups.
  • Optional use of swivel hooks or shackles provides flexibility depending on rigging preference and job requirements.
  • Heavy-duty welded steel construction ensures durability for repeated industrial use in stone yards and fabrication plants.
  • Overall width around 2000 mm, giving stable geometry for wide-load handling and improved lift balance.
Q&A

Q: What is the Aardwolf Spreader Bar ASB35T (3.5 Tons)?
A: The Aardwolf ASB35T is a heavy-duty adjustable spreader beam designed for safely lifting, balancing, and rotating stone slabs, sheet materials, and unbalanced loads using cranes and webbing slings.

Q: What is its lifting capacity?
A: It has a Working Load Limit (WLL) of 3,500 kg (3.5 tons / 7,716 lb), making it suitable for medium-to-heavy industrial lifting applications.

Q: What is it mainly used for?
A: It is commonly used in stone fabrication, construction, and warehousing to lift, turn, and stabilize granite, marble, quartz, and large slab bundles safely.

Q: What are its key features?
A: It includes adjustable lifting points for load balancing, swivel hooks or roller options, and crowned rollers that help guide slings and reduce twisting during lifting operations.

Q: How does it improve lifting safety?
A: The spreader bar distributes weight evenly across multiple lifting points, reducing stress on both the slabs and rigging equipment while improving load stability during crane operation.

Q: Can it handle uneven or wide loads?
A: Yes. Its adjustable configuration allows it to safely manage wide or unbalanced loads by repositioning lifting points to maintain equilibrium.

Q: Why choose the Aardwolf ASB35T?

Maintenance Tips
  • Inspect spreader bar body, welds, lifting points, and end fittings before each use for cracks, bending, or fatigue.
  • Check shackles, pins, and hooks for wear, deformation, or improper locking and replace if necessary.
  • Ensure all connection points are securely fastened and correctly rated for 3.5-ton lifting operations.
  • Verify load is evenly distributed across lifting points to prevent imbalance or overstressing the bar.
  • Do not exceed the rated 3.5-ton capacity under any lifting configuration.
  • Keep lifting surfaces clean from stone dust, oil, and debris to maintain safe handling and connections.
  • Lubricate pins, shackles, and moving connections periodically for smooth operation and reduced wear.
  • Inspect identification markings and load rating labels to ensure they are clearly visible and legible.
  • Store in a dry, covered environment to prevent rust and corrosion on steel components.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure structural integrity and safe lifting performance.
