Q&A

Q: What is the SPD‑20‑AL‑DBL‑7884 model?
A: A double‑leaf aluminum swing door from Curtron’s Service‑Pro Series 20, designed for light‑duty commercial traffic areas with a wide opening size of 78″ × 84″.

Q: What are its dimensions and panel configuration?
A: Measures approximately 78″ wide and 84″ high in total. It consists of two panels (each roughly 39″ wide × 84″ high) that swing both directions for two‑way traffic flow.

Q: What construction and material features does it offer?
A: Constructed using .063″‑thick tempered aluminum with satin‑anodized finish. Includes built‑in 9″ × 14″ clear windows for visibility and reinforced back‑spine support for durability.

Q: What environments is this door best suited for?
A: Ideal for commercial kitchens, food‑service back‑of‑house entrances, convenience‑store service zones, or any setting requiring a wide, bidirectional access door with durable aluminum construction and moderate traffic throughput.

Q: What should installers check before purchase and installation?
A: Ensure the structural opening accommodates 78″ width × 84″ height; confirm there is adequate clearance on both sides for the door panels to swing; verify the frame and hardware are compatible with an aluminum dual‑swing door; and select the appropriate finish and vision‑panel layout for the facility’s environment.

Maintenance Tips
  • Clean the satin-anodized aluminum surfaces regularly with a soft cloth and a mild non-abrasive cleaner to prevent buildup and maintain finish quality.

  • Inspect hinge assemblies, bottom pivots and fasteners to ensure no loose or worn parts; tighten or replace hardware as necessary.

  • Verify both door leaves swing freely, align properly at the center, and close flush without scraping or sticking.

  • Check the vision windows and surrounding seals for cracks, haze, or separation to ensure clear visibility and safe operation.

  • Monitor panel surfaces for dents, corrosion or fatigue—especially in high-traffic zones—and address any damage promptly.

  • Every 3-6 months, apply a light lubricant to hinge joints and pivot points to maintain smooth operation and reduce noise.

  • At least twice a year, perform a full inspection: clean hardware, re-tighten fasteners, test door under actual traffic conditions, and document any worn parts for replacement.
