Epson BrightLink 455Wi-V Short Throw 3LCD Projector - V11H440320

The Epson BrightLink 455Wi-V Projector-Value Version is available for qualified education customers only. It's got 2500 lumens of brightness and a 2000:1 contrast ratio. So, it's got plenty of projection power to show a big bright picture in a normally lit room.

The 455Wi-V can handle input in the NTSC, PAL and SECAM TV standards and it can project in 720p and 1080i high definition formats. Its 100 to 240 V AC power supply rounds out its international capabilities.

This projector mounts at the top of the same wall it's projecting onto. It can do so only because it's an ultra-short throw projector. An ultra-short throw projector, simply put, can project a larger picture at a shorter distance from the screen than a conventional projector can. In the case of the 455Wi-V that means it can project a 96" (2438.4mm) image measured diagonally from just two feet away from the screen.

Imagine the advantages of that kind of setup. You can practically stand right under the 455Wi-V and not cast a shadow on the screen. Nor will you have to wince from the projector's beam shining in your eyes.

This projector comes with a bunch of programs (both PC and Macintosh versions). Once you've installed the software on your computer you can actually write on your presentations with an interdraft stylus. You don't need any special kind of electronic white board. Use a standard white board, blackboard, a wall-even wood paneling in a pinch. This particular bundle does not include the pen tray, battery charger, and VGA and USB cables.

  • 2500 Lumens
  • Interdraft Short Throw
What our Experts Think
  • Short‑Throw Convenience: Projects a large image from a short distance — ideal for classrooms, meeting rooms, or small spaces where projector-to-wall distance is limited.

  • WXGA Resolution for Everyday Use: Native 1280 × 800 ensures clear projection for slideshows, presentations, documents, and standard-definition video.

  • Interdraft Capabilities (with Compatible Input Device): If used with interdraft pens or touch accessory, it can support annotation, drawing, or collaboration — useful for teaching, workshops, or brainstorming sessions.

  • Sufficient Brightness for Controlled Lighting: Brightness level is adequate for classrooms or offices with moderate ambient light, especially when ambient light can be dimmed.

  • Compact & Flexible Installation: Short‑throw design and manageable size make installation on wall, ceiling, or tabletop straightforward — suitable for fixed or flexible setups.

Q&A

Q: What is the Epson BrightLink 455Wi‑V?
A: An ultra‑short‑throw interdraft 3LCD projector with WXGA resolution (1280 × 800), designed for classrooms, training rooms, meeting spaces and collaborative environments where you want a large display from a short distance.

Q: What is the native resolution and brightness?
A: Native resolution is WXGA (1280 × 800); both white and color brightness are rated around 2,500 ANSI lumens.

Q: What image size and throw distance does it support?
A: Projects a diagonal image from about 59″ up to 96″ when placed just a short distance from the surface (throw ratio around 0.37:1). It’s ideal for wall or white‑board mounting at close range.

Q: Does it support interdraft features?
A: Yes — as part of the BrightLink interdraft lineup, it supports interdraft pens or touch‑driven annotation (or interdraft whiteboard‑style use), transforming a regular wall or board into a collaborative display.

Q: What is the lamp life and maintenance profile?
A: Uses a 230 W UHE (E‑TORL) lamp; expected lamp life is about 2,500 hours in normal mode or up to about 3,500 hours in Eco mode.

Q: What connectivity and setup flexibility does it offer?
A: Includes typical inputs for computer/video (VGA/composite/S‑Video or similar), USB, network control (RJ‑45/RS‑232), and supports wall‑mount or table‑mount configurations. Built‑in speaker supports modest audio output for classroom/meeting‑room use.

Q: Who is this projector best suited for?
A: Educators, trainers, offices, small to medium‑sized classrooms or meeting rooms needing interdraft display features, short‑throw projection (to avoid shadows or obstructions), and easy whiteboard‑style functionality.

Maintenance Tips
  • Clean the air filter every 100–200 hours to prevent overheating and maintain bright, clear projection.

  • Wipe the lens gently with a microfiber cloth to ensure sharp, vibrant images.

  • Keep vents and surrounding areas unobstructed for proper airflow and cooling.

  • Use Eco mode when full brightness isn’t required to extend lamp life and reduce heat.

  • Allow full cooldown before unplugging or moving to protect internal components.

  • Update firmware regularly to maintain interdraft feature performance and system stability.

  • Cover the projector when not in use to minimize dust buildup on optics and sensor
