Maintenance Tips
- Clean the frame, drivetrain, and brakes regularly after trail, gravel, or wet rides to prevent corrosion and premature wear.
- Inspect chromoly steel frame and fork for paint chips, rust spots, dents, or stress marks; touch up exposed steel promptly.
- Apply internal rust inhibitor annually, especially if riding in humid, rainy, or coastal environments.
- Grease all threaded interfaces (bottom bracket, headset, thru-axles, rack/fender/bottle mounts) to prevent seizing over time.
- Check rack, cargo cage, and frame mounts frequently—Ogre is often used for loaded bikepacking and commuting.
- Ensure disc brake mounts, rotors, and bolts remain tight, clean, and properly aligned for reliable stopping power.
- Maintain drivetrain (chain, cassette, chainrings) with regular cleaning and lubrication for smooth shifting on mixed terrain.
- Verify tire clearance when switching setups or running wide 29” tires, especially in muddy conditions.
- Avoid pressure washing to protect bearings and frame seals from water intrusion.
- Store indoors in a dry space to maximize steel frame longevity and finish durability.
