SCM Gang Rip Saw - Class M 3

Practical, accurate, reliable, and, above all, safe. The SCM multi-blade rip saw is equipped with 4 anti-kickback finger barriers: three top and one bottom and a chip deflector screen between the three top barriers. Simple but effective, the M3 spindle is mounted in a massive cast housing with four bearings to ensure maximum rigidity. The spindle housing is an eccentric as well, making it a simple machine. This allows for worry free blade diameter positioning for easy, accurate setup every time.

This machine has an extremely substantial feed belt which is directly driven through its robust belt links. Unwanted movement of the saw blade shaft sleeve is prevented by the aggressive surface of the feed belt and the 4 pressure rollers (2 in front and 2 behind the blades). These advanced features ensure maximum straightening and excellent cutting quality, minimizing the quantity of stock removal in successive machining.

Setting up operations is quick: the adjustment of spindle, pressure rollers and feed speed is carried out by hand wheels according to graduated scale and direct reading. The infeed fence is fitted with a self-locking lever which can be operated single-handed. The centralized control panel is equipped with ammeter to enable operator to obtain maximum output without motor stress.

Monoblock technology is used in the base which means it is made of a solid welded base that is then normalized to ensure permanent tolerances. By using Monoblock technology, consistency in machine quality is further ensured. All machine mechanisms are mounted, aligned, and referenced to the base.

For maximum tolerance, and reliability, a single piece cast feed table is used. This, when mounted into the Monoblock base, creates a permanent reference point for the alignment of the saw. Also, this massive table ensures that any vibrations in the machining process are absorbed away from the workpiece.

A safety switch is mounted in the locking handle to ensure the machine will not run with the door open. This unit is threaded allowing enough time for cutting blades to stop after operation before access door opens. The feed chain is powered by a 2hp variable belt drive unit with serviceable gear box as opposed to a sealed variator carried by competitive models.
