GE SharkBite Max 3/4 in. Push-to-Connect x 3/4 in. FIP x 12 in. Braided Stainless Steel Water Heater Connector - UR3088FX12

SharkBite Max flexible water heater connectors are the fastest and easiest way to connect your water heater to existing pipes in your home. A newly designed stainless steel collet retainer delivers additional strength and durability and provides a 200 psi pressure rating. SharkBite Max connectors do not require a PEX tube liner, and a re-engineered body allows you to insert the pipe using less force and greater ease. No soldering, clamps, unions, glue, or special tools required. After inserting to pipe, stainless steel teeth bite down and grip the pipe tightly while a specially formulated O-ring compresses around the pipe to create a watertight seal. The flexible stainless steel braided hose reduces the need for extra joints or fittings, allowing for faster installs. Available in additional lengths (12 in. to 24 in.) and with integrated ball valve shut off.

What our Experts Think
  • Fastest “no-tools” installation upgrade: Push-to-connect inlet lets you connect copper, PEX, CPVC, or PE-RT lines instantly—ideal for replacing water heater supply lines without soldering or special tools.
  • Built for tight-space flexibility: The 12-inch braided stainless steel hose bends easily around cramped utility areas, reducing stress on fittings and simplifying alignment during installation.
  • Heavy-duty braided stainless construction: Designed for durability, the braided stainless steel jacket improves resistance to kinks, vibration, and long-term wear in hot water systems.
  • High-pressure, high-temp reliability: Rated for typical residential water heater conditions (up to ~200 PSI and elevated temperatures), ensuring stable performance under daily thermal cycling.
  • Leak-resistant engineered seal: Lead-free brass push-to-connect fitting creates a secure connection with reduced installation error risk when properly seated.
  • Wet-line installation ready: Can be installed on active plumbing lines and pressure tested immediately—saving time during emergency replacements or upgrades.
  • Universal compatibility advantage: Works with multiple pipe types (copper, PEX, CPVC, PE-RT), making it a flexible choice for both retrofit and new installations.
  • Professional-grade convenience: Widely used by installers for faster service calls, reduced labor time, and cleaner water heater setups in residential systems.

Maintenance Tips
  • Routine Leak Inspection: Check both push-to-connect and FIP ends for moisture, corrosion, or slow seepage.
  • Avoid Stress on Hose: Keep the braided stainless steel line free from sharp bends, stretching, or twisting.
  • Secure Fit Verification: Ensure push-to-connect is fully seated and FIP threads remain tightly fastened after installation and maintenance.
  • Check Braided Jacket: Look for fraying, rust spots, or bulges that may indicate wear or internal pressure issues.
  • Maintain Proper Pressure: Operate within rated water pressure limits to extend connector life and prevent failure.
  • Flush Water Heater: Regular flushing reduces sediment buildup that can strain fittings and reduce efficiency.
  • Replace if Damaged: Any signs of leaks, stiffness, or visible wear should prompt immediate replacement.
