GE SharkBite Max 3/4 in. Push-to-Connect x 3/4 in. FIP x 12 in. Corrugated Stainless Steel Water Heater Connector -  URSS3088FX12

SharkBite Max flexible water heater connectors are the fastest and easiest way to connect your water heater to existing pipes in your home. A newly designed stainless steel collet retainer delivers additional strength and durability and provides a 200 psi pressure rating. SharkBite Max connectors do not require a PEX tube liner and a re-engineered body allows you to insert the pipe using less force and greater ease. No soldering, clamps, unions, glue or special tools required. After inserting to pipe, stainless steel teeth bite down and grip the pipe tightly while a specially formulated O-ring compresses around the pipe to create a watertight seal. The durable corrugated stainless-steel hose is a great option for areas that require hard piping but is still flexible enough to connect to water lines in tight spaces that don't line up. Available in additional lengths (12 in. to 24 in. ) and with integrated ball valve shut off.

What our Experts Think
  • Fastest install with zero tools: Push-to-connect design eliminates soldering, crimping, or glue—ideal for quick water heater replacements or tight spaces.
  • Highly flexible corrugated design: The 12-inch stainless steel connector easily adapts to misaligned pipes, reducing stress on fittings and simplifying installation in confined areas.
  • Universal pipe compatibility: Works seamlessly with PEX, copper, CPVC, PE-RT, and HDPE—making it a versatile solution for both new installs and retrofits.
  • Durable, corrosion-resistant build: Stainless steel body with a lead-free brass fitting ensures long-term reliability and resistance to heat and pressure.
  • High performance under pressure: Rated up to 180°F and 200 PSI, delivering dependable performance in residential and light commercial hot water systems.
  • Wet-line installation capability: Can be installed on active water lines and pressure tested immediately—saving time during urgent replacements or repairs.
  • Rotatable & removable fitting: Allows post-install adjustment and easy removal with a disconnect tool, improving flexibility for maintenance or upgrades.

Maintenance Tips
  • Inspect for Leaks: Check connections regularly at both push-to-connect and FIP ends to ensure a tight, drip-free seal.
  • Avoid Over-Bending: Maintain a smooth curve in the corrugated line—kinks can restrict water flow and weaken the connector.
  • Check for Corrosion: Although stainless steel resists rust, inspect periodically in high-moisture or hard-water environments.
  • Secure Fittings: Confirm fittings remain firmly seated, especially after temperature fluctuations from the water heater.
  • Flush Sediment: Periodically flush your water heater to reduce mineral buildup that can affect connector lifespan.
  • Temperature & Pressure Monitoring: Ensure system stays within rated limits to prevent premature wear or failure.
  • Replace When Worn: If you notice bulging, cracks, or reduced flexibility, replace promptly to avoid leaks
