Voile HyperCharger Alpine Touring Skis - 5205-171-2526

The HyperCharger is a directional, carving ski with a powerful edge-to-edge feel. Its long running length and a wide shovel provide strong edging ability when driving fast and a generous width that provides excellent float in powder. This ski is designed for big lines and for the rider who wants a true all-in-one ski, from pre-season corn to the deepest powder of winter.

The Charger series has been a part of the Voile lineup since 2011 for a good reason. It’s an award-winning ski, but the latest iteration has evolved into something quite different. We've switched the core from poplar to paulownia and doubled the amount of carbon fiber, creating a ski that is lighter than its predecessor without sacrificing an ounce of its iconic downhill performance. This ski rides as nicely as it dices narrow couloirs, rips wide-open aprons, and dances through powder-filled tree lines, and now you can actually get it to the top.

What our Experts Think
  • High-performance alpine touring ski designed for skiers who want maximum downhill power without giving up uphill efficiency.
  • Carbon-reinforced, ultralight construction keeps weight low while delivering strong stability at speed.
  • Mid-fat platform provides a confident balance of powder float and firm-snow edge hold.
  • Rocker-camber profile improves turn initiation, precision, and control in variable backcountry conditions.
  • Stiffer, more responsive flex supports aggressive skiing on steeper terrain and longer descents.
  • Designed for demanding objectives where stability and performance matter as much as weight savings.
  • Handles mixed alpine conditions well, from wind-affected snow to deep powder and spring corn.
  • A top-tier choice for experienced tourers seeking a powerful, fast, and efficient backcountry ski.

Q&A

Q: What is the Voile HyperCharger Alpine Touring Ski designed for?
A: An ultralight, high-performance backcountry touring ski built for steep ascents and aggressive big-mountain descents.

Q: What makes the HyperCharger different from the standard Charger?
A: It uses Voile’s Hyper Series construction with a paulownia wood core and full carbon layup, significantly reducing weight while maintaining a powerful, charger-style downhill feel.

Q: How does it perform on the uphill?
A: Excellent. The ultralight construction makes long climbs and technical skin tracks much easier, especially on big alpine touring days.

Q: Is it stable enough for aggressive skiing?
A: Yes. Despite its low weight, it is designed for strong edge hold, high-speed stability, and confident performance in steep terrain.

Q: How does it perform in powder and variable snow?
A: It offers good float in soft snow thanks to its rockered tip and balanced shape, while still remaining composed in mixed and wind-affected conditions.

Q: Who is the Voile HyperCharger best for?
A: Advanced backcountry skiers who want an ultralight touring ski that still delivers powerful, aggressive downhill performance in big-mountain terrain.

Maintenance Tips
  • Wax the sintered base regularly to maintain fast glide and protect against drying, especially in cold and variable snow conditions.
  • Keep edges sharp and clean for strong grip on icy climbs, firm descents, and technical backcountry terrain.
  • Dry skis thoroughly after every tour—pay close attention to edges and binding zones to prevent rust and corrosion.
  • Inspect binding mounts and hardware frequently; retighten screws if any loosening occurs after long or aggressive use.
  • Repair base scratches and core shots promptly with P-Tex to preserve speed and structural integrity.
  • Brush off snow and ice buildup from topsheet and bindings after use to reduce moisture and added weight.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to heat or direct sunlight (vehicles, storage rooms), which can affect camber and materials.
  • Apply a storage wax before off-season and store in a cool, dry place.
