Voile W HyperCharger Alpine Touring Skis - 5211-154-2526

This ski's evolution can be traced all the way back to the beginning of our current ski line. It shares the shape and profile of the legendary Women's SuperCharger but has been refined for the modern backcountry skier. By adding a paulownia wood core and more carbon fiber, the Women’s HyperCharger sheds hundreds of grams per pair while maintaining the durability and strength the brand is known for. This isn't a women's ski that came out as an afterthought; it is the genesis.

The Women's HyperCharger is a directional, hard-carving ski with an edge-to-edge feel. It’s a "do-it-all" backcountry ski that's capable of riding big lines as well as being a perfect daily driver. It features a generous width, early-rise tip, and wide shovel that provide excellent float in powder. A long running length and a hard-working tail ensure you have the control and stability at speed you need to ride with confidence.

What our Experts Think
  • Built as a high-performance ultralight big-mountain touring ski designed for fast ascents and strong downhill control in demanding terrain.
  • ~100mm waist platform (154cm ~99mm / 164cm ~102mm) delivers a balanced mix of flotation in soft snow and precision on firm backcountry snow.
  • Hyper Series carbon + paulownia construction significantly reduces weight while maintaining stability and energy transfer for technical descents.
  • Directional, carving-focused shape with long running length gives strong edge hold and confidence at speed in steep or exposed terrain.
  • Early-rise tip + camber underfoot improves turn initiation and powder float while preserving control on variable snow.
  • Minimal taper + strong tail design enhances power, stability, and control when skiing fast or in rough backcountry conditions.
  • Designed for big mountain lines, powder touring, and high-output backcountry missions, not casual resort skiing.
  • Known for a precise, powerful feel with less dampness than heavier skis, rewarding strong, active skiing technique.

Q&A

Q: What makes the Voile HyperCharger Alpine Touring Ski unique?
A: The HyperCharger is built with Voile’s ultralight Hyper construction, combining a paulownia wood core and dual carbon layup for a powerful yet lightweight big-mountain touring ski designed for speed and efficiency.

Q: Who is the HyperCharger best suited for?
A: It’s aimed at advanced backcountry skiers who want a lightweight ski that can still charge, especially on long tours, big alpine lines, and variable mountain conditions.

Q: How does it perform on the descent?
A: It delivers a directional, hard-charging feel with strong edge hold, stability at speed, and confidence on steep or exposed terrain thanks to its long running length and minimal taper design.

Q: How does it perform in powder?
A: The rockered tip and wide shovel provide excellent float, while the shape remains controlled and stable for big, fast powder turns in open terrain.

Q: Is the HyperCharger good for uphill touring?
A: Yes—its Hyper construction significantly reduces weight compared to traditional builds, making long ascents more efficient without sacrificing downhill performance.

Q: How does it handle mixed or firm snow?
A: It stays composed and precise for a lightweight ski, but like most ultralight carbon designs, it prioritizes efficiency and powder performance over heavy crud absorption.

Maintenance Tips
  • Wax the sintered base regularly to maintain fast glide and protect the ultralight paulownia/carbon construction from drying out and oxidation.
  • Avoid excessive wax on high-flex and edge zones, helping preserve strong, precise edge grip in variable alpine conditions.
  • Keep edges sharp and corrosion-free, especially after wet or spring snow; always dry skis immediately after touring.
  • Repair base scratches early with P-Tex to prevent core exposure and maintain consistent downhill performance on mixed terrain.
  • Clean and brush the base periodically to remove dirt and old wax, improving glide efficiency on long approaches.
  • Inspect binding screws and mount points regularly, as ultralight carbon skis rely on secure hardware for safety and performance.
  • Apply storage wax during off-season, then store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and heat to protect the ski’s carbon-weave structure.
  • Avoid heavy rock impacts and abuse, since the HyperCharger is built for light, fast touring rather than repeated hard-core freeride hits.
