Disposing of a hard drive is not as easy as disposing of it in the garbage. Even if the drive is erased through magnetic degaussing, the security of the data is not guaranteed.
The Formax FD 87HD Hard Drive Punch provides that added level of security by punching a hole through discarded hard drives, causing visible damage and making the stored data virtually unreadable. The FD 87HD meets NSA/CSS requirements for Hard Drive Destruction Devices.
Easily insert a hard drive into the feed chute, secure the safety shield, and with a simple press of a button, the durable steel punch will puncture the hard drive. The device then securely stores the hard drive in a waste bin for proper disposal or recycling.
The FD 87HD punching die is made of hardened, nickel-plated steel for durability, and handles the two most common hard drive sizes, 2.5” and 3.5”, without any additional adjustments. LEDs illuminate the chamber during the punching process, visible through the transparent safety shield.
The LED control panel displays the status and offers jam protection with auto reverse and automatic stop. In addition, sensors stop the motor automatically if the door is open or waste bin is full. The powerful geared motor is housed in an all-metal cabinet with casters for mobility and is designed for low operational noise.

This warranty extends only to the original purchaser and does not include labor or the payment of any labor charges or incidental or consequential expenses.
Warranty claims must be submitted with a replacement part order. All parts are shipped FOB Dover, NH.
