Q&A
Q: What type of HVAC system is this?
A: This is a self‑contained gas & electric packaged unit, combining both air conditioning and natural gas heating in one rooftop or ground‑level outdoor cabinet — no separate indoor furnace or air handler needed.
Q: What are the cooling and heating capacities?
A: The unit delivers 2.5 tons (≈28,600 BTU) of cooling at 13.4 SEER2 and 60,000 BTU of natural gas heating — providing year‑round comfort.
Q: How efficient is it?
A: It features 13.4 SEER2 (cooling) and ≈81% AFUE (heating) for efficient performance aligned with modern standards.
Q: What does “Ultra‑Low NOx” mean?
A: The unit is compliant with ultra‑low NOx emissions standards, producing reduced nitrogen oxide for cleaner operation and improved environmental compliance.
Q: What refrigerant does this use?
A: It’s precharged for R‑32 refrigerant, a newer low‑GWP cooling agent.
Q: What installation configurations are supported?
A: Supports downflow or horizontal discharge, making it suitable for rooftop and next‑to‑building setups.
Q: What are the electrical requirements?
A: Operates on 208/230 V single‑phase power (60 Hz).
Q: What type of compressor and airflow system does it include?
A: Includes a single‑stage scroll compressor and a multi‑speed blower motor for reliable cooling airflow.
Maintenance Tips
-
Replace or clean air filters every 1–3 months to maintain airflow and system efficiency.
-
Keep supply and return vents clear of furniture, dust, and debris.
-
Maintain 2–3 feet of clearance around the air handler for proper airflow and safe operation.
-
Inspect the condensate drain line and pan regularly to prevent clogs and water damage.
-
Check heater elements for dust accumulation or signs of wear.
-
Ensure thermostat is functioning properly and set for efficient heating and cooling cycles.
-
Inspect ductwork and connections for leaks or blockages.
-
Clean blower compartment and internal surfaces periodically to prevent dust buildup.
-
Listen for unusual noises such as rattling, buzzing, or humming indicating potential mechanical issues.
-
Schedule annual professional HVAC maintenance to inspect electrical connections, blower motor, heater elements, and overall system performance.
