Hale Pet Door for Walls | Secure In Wall Mount Dog Door & Cat Door - HL-212BA

All Wall Mount pet doors by Hale are ultra high-end products, engineered with painstaking attention to detail and the highest quality materials. It's just not worth it to waste money on cheap pet doors that use poor quality materials because they need to be replaced too frequently.

A Hale Pet Door lasts owners many, many years even with intense use. Hale also helps owners save on energy bills compared to other pet doors, as Hale doors have flaps with the highest rating for insulation and sealing properties. This is an investment that your pet (and your wallet) will appreciate for years to come.

Hale Wall Model Pet Door

This model can only be installed through a WALL. For door installation Hale Pet Doors, see our Hale Door Mounted Pet Door.

This Wall Mounted pet door is the best selling door from Hale, and its self-framing and self-supporting design is one of the easiest to install on your own.

It was designed to be installed through almost any type of wall, interior or exterior. Just cut the tunnel to the wall thickness, slip the outside frame into the tunnel and attach with provided screws.

A 10 inch tunnel comes standard with all Hale wall mount pet doors, which will work for any wall that is between 2 and 10 inches thick. The oversize option accommodates walls up to 16 inches thick.

Under each tunnel Hale installs flashing to contain and divert any water that may find its way through the tunnel. Each tunnel is lined on the sides and bottom with mildew- and mold-resistant olefin carpet. The carpet prevents the tunnel from getting too hot or too cold for your pet to walk on and also helps prevent additional heat or light from entering your home. The carpet acts like a welcome mat by wiping your dog's paws so as he or she walks through the tunnel. The carpet is easily cleaned with a vacuum hose attachment or any standard household cleaner.

In addition, all Wall Mounted models come with a FREE Raincap. This awning attaches to the top of the outside pet door frame and helps to prevent any water from entering into the pet door and so prevents your house from getting wet! The Raincap works as a part of Hale Pet Door's water containment and diversion system to help prevent moisture intrusion into your pet door!

*Note on Optional Exterior Security Cover: Choosing this option makes your pet door a "custom" door for return policy purposes and entitles you to 50% credit towards the purchase of a new door should you need to return your door for any reason.

    Maintenance Tips
    • Regular Cleaning: Clean the door frame and flap with a soft, damp cloth regularly to remove dirt and debris. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasives that could damage the surface or seals.
    • Inspect the Flap: Periodically check the flap for signs of wear or damage. If the flap becomes cracked or torn, it may need to be replaced to ensure proper insulation and secure sealing.
    • Check Seals and Gaskets: Inspect the seals around the door to ensure they remain intact and functioning. If the seals become worn or lose their flexibility, replace them to maintain energy efficiency and prevent drafts.
    • Lubricate Moving Parts: If the door operates with any sliding or moving components, lightly lubricate them with a silicone-based lubricant to prevent squeaking and ensure smooth operation.
    • Tighten Screws and Fasteners: Regularly check that all screws, bolts, and fasteners are securely tightened. Loose fasteners can lead to misalignment and cause the door to operate improperly.
    • Inspect the Mounting: Check that the door is securely mounted to the wall. Any shifting or movement of the unit could lead to damage or poor sealing, affecting the door's performance.
    • Monitor for Drafts: After installation, periodically check the door for any drafts or air leakage, particularly in colder weather. If you notice any, check the alignment and seals for potential gaps.
    • Prevent Obstructions: Ensure there are no objects obstructing the door’s path that could prevent it from opening and closing correctly. This will keep the door functioning smoothly.
    • Check for Weathering: Over time, exposure to the elements may cause the materials to weather. If the door shows signs of wear due to sun exposure or moisture, consider applying a protective coating to prevent further damage.
    • Test Regularly: Periodically test the door by allowing your pet to use it and ensuring it operates smoothly and securely. Address any issues promptly to avoid more extensive repairs down the line.
    • Check for Security: If the door has any locking mechanism for added security, ensure it operates properly and that any locks or latches are working as intended.
    • Professional Inspection: If the door starts to show significant wear or performance issues that you cannot resolve, consider having it professionally inspected or repaired to maintain its function.
