The Almighty: The PCH2000 is the most powerful winch available; performing the most demanding tasks smoothly.
Design: The PCH2000 has a capstan drum that allows to maintain a constant force over an unlimited length of rope at a speed of 66 feet per minute. It is also the first model to offer a 4-1/4'' anodized drum. By oversizing the drum, the friction surface is expanded and it results in better load control. Through anodic oxidation treatment, the PCH2000s drum features better wear resistance and does not increase the rope conductivity. These attributes make it ideal for its assignment to tasks around and on electrical structures!
Developed for lifting: The PCH series benefits from its own unique clutch and rope Progressive Capture System (PCS). Once the rope is inserted into the grabbing system, the operator activates the clutch and initiates the movement by pulling the rope horizontally. At any time, the operator can decide to stop lifting and hold the load in mid-air. It is also possible to pull on the handle of the cord attached to the PCS to disengage it and lower the load, while controlling the main rope in the descent.
Performance: Powered by the Honda GX160 cc engine, the PCH2000 features an unprecedented pulling power of 2,530 lb and a lifting capacity of 990 lb in a single line. Of course, a block and tackle system will allow you to increase its capacity!
Q: What is the Portable Winch PCH2000 Gas-Powered Pulling/Lifting Winch?
A: It is a heavy-duty capstan-style winch powered by a Honda GX160 engine, designed for industrial-grade pulling and lifting tasks.
Q: What engine does it use?
A: It uses a Honda GX160 4-stroke gasoline engine, known for reliability and consistent power output.
Q: What is the pulling capacity?
A: It delivers up to 2,530 lb (single line) pulling force and about 990 lb lifting capacity, depending on setup.
Q: Can it be used for lifting as well as pulling?
A: Yes. It is engineered for both pulling and controlled lifting using its Progressive Capture System (PCS), which helps hold and release loads safely.
Q: How does the capstan system work?
A: The rope is fed around a rotating drum, allowing continuous pulling over unlimited rope length with consistent force and controlled speed.
Q: What safety/control features does it have?
A: It includes a Progressive Capture System (PCS) and clutch mechanism that allows the operator to stop, hold, or lower loads in a controlled way.
Q: What is it commonly used for?
A: It is used in forestry, construction, utility work, and industrial applications where powerful, portable pulling or lifting is needed.
Q: Why choose a gas-powered winch like this?
A: It provides high portability, strong continuous pulling power, and independence from electric power sources, making it suitable for remote or heavy-duty field work.
