Backwoods Adventure Hi-Lite Overland Toyota Tacoma Front Bumper 4th Gen (2024-2026) [No Bull Bar] - BWTT4F-9860

Introducing our TRUE hybrid front winch bumper for the 2024-2026 4th gen Toyota Tacoma. Our version of a Hybrid Bumper incorporates Steel AND Aluminum, not just one or the other. The Hi-Lite gets its name from its aggressive, high-clearance design and its ultra lightweight overall construction. This bumper features a full 35lb aluminum shell and a 42lb steel winch cradle for a total weight of around 77lbs, depending on the bull bar variant. (40lbs is actually removed from the OEM bumper, so you're only adding around 45lbs to the front of your truck total with this bumper). We've specially designed this bumper to give you strength where you need it most while saving weight and eliminating rust everywhere else.

Features
  • Designed and manufactured in the USA
  • Industry leading design: Hybrid Half Steel, Half Aluminum
  • Aluminum outer shell: 35lbs
  • Steel winch plate & Recovery points: 42lbs
  • Full combined bumper weight: only 77lbs
  • Super aggressive high clearance design
  • Soft edged recovery points safe for soft shackles
  • Hand cutouts for winch access and spooling visibility
  • Steel recovery points tied directly to the frame, not the bumper
  • Light cutouts for most aftermarket pod lights
  • Durable black powder coat finish included
What our Experts Think
  • Aggressive high-clearance protection: The BWTT4F-9860 Backwoods Adventure Hi-Lite Overland Front Bumper (No Bull Bar) for the 2024–2026 Toyota Tacoma is a hybrid steel + aluminum winch bumper built to significantly improve approach angles while protecting the front end on-road and off-road.
  • Lightweight hybrid engineering: Designed with a steel winch cradle paired with an aluminum outer shell, it delivers strong structural support while keeping weight low—around ~70–80 lbs total depending on configuration.
  • Winch-ready recovery platform: Integrated winch mount and reinforced frame tie-in points make it suitable for serious recovery setups, not just cosmetic upgrades.
  • Weight efficiency advantage: Despite being a full protection bumper, it typically adds only a modest load over stock once OEM bumper weight is removed, helping preserve fuel efficiency and suspension balance.
  • Clean “no bull bar” design: The bull bar–less configuration prioritizes a minimal, modern off-road look while maintaining strong front-end protection and sensor-friendly geometry for newer Tacoma systems.
  • Built for real overland use: Engineered for rock impacts, trail abuse, and recovery scenarios, it’s a practical upgrade for owners who actually use their Tacoma in demanding environments rather than just styling it.
  • Best suited for: 4th Gen Tacoma owners who want a lightweight, winch-capable front bumper that improves clearance and durability without committing to an overly heavy steel-only setup.

Q&A

Q1: What is the BWTU3B-9750 DRIFTR Topper used for?
A: It is a modular add-on for the Backwoods Adventure full-height Tundra bed rack, designed to expand the system into a full-length DRIFTR roof rack platform for overlanding and gear mounting.

Q2: What does the DRIFTR Topper do?
A: It effectively adds an additional upper rack layer, creating a continuous mounting surface for rooftop tents, cargo boxes, and expedition gear across the bed rack system.

Q3: What vehicles is it compatible with?
A: It is designed for the Toyota Tundra (2022+ 3rd Gen models) when paired with the required Backwoods full-height bed rack system.

Q4: Is the base bed rack required?
A: Yes. The Backwoods full-height bed rack is required—the topper is not a standalone product and must mount on the existing rack.

Q5: What materials is it made from?
A: It is built from heavy-duty aluminum (approx. 0.25” thick side rails) with a powder-coated finish for corrosion resistance and off-road durability.

Q6: What is its main benefit for overlanding?
A: It creates a flush, extended cargo platform from cab to rear, improving rooftop tent clearance and maximizing usable mounting space for long expeditions.

Q7: What can you mount on it?
A: It supports rooftop tents, awnings, traction boards, cargo boxes, and modular overland accessories using slotted extrusion mounting points.

Q8: Is it modular or fixed?
A: It is modular, allowing accessory repositioning via slotted rails for flexible overland setups.

Maintenance Tips
  • Rinse regularly with fresh water to remove mud, salt, and debris after off-road use
  • Dry completely to prevent moisture buildup around welds, mounts, and recovery points
  • Inspect mounting bolts and re-torque after impacts, towing use, or rough terrain driving
  • Clean with mild, pH-neutral soap; avoid abrasive pads that can damage powder coat finish
  • Check for chips or scratches in coating and touch up promptly to prevent rust at exposed steel areas
  • Lubricate recovery point hardware and threaded areas to maintain smooth operation
  • Ensure skid and bumper gaps stay clear of packed mud, rocks, or road debris
  • Periodically inspect welds, brackets, and frame mounts for stress or fatigue
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to road salt; wash more frequently in winter or coastal conditions
  • Verify winch or accessory mounts (if installed) remain securely tightened and aligned
