Backwoods Adventure Hi-Lite Overland Toyota Tacoma Front Bumper 4th Gen (2024-2026) [Bull Bar] - BWTT4F-9865

Introducing our TRUE hybrid bull bar style front winch bumper for the 2024-2025 4th gen Toyota Tacoma. Our version of a Hybrid Bumper incorporates Steel AND Aluminum, not just one or the other. The Hi-Lite gets its name from its aggressive, high-clearance design and its ultra lightweight overall construction. This bumper features a full 44lb aluminum shell and a 42lb steel winch cradle for a total weight of 86lbs (40lbs is actually removed from the OEM bumper, so you're only adding around 45lbs to the front of your truck with this bumper). We've specially designed this bumper to give you strength where you need it most while saving weight and eliminating rust everywhere else.

What our Experts Think
  • Next-gen hybrid protection for 4th Gen Tacoma – The BWTT4F-9865 Hi-Lite Overland Front Bumper is a 2024–2026 Toyota Tacoma bull bar configuration designed to deliver winch-ready capability while keeping a clean, modern OEM+ look.
  • Ultra-light hybrid construction philosophy – Experts highlight its steel winch cradle + aluminum outer shell design, giving strong impact protection while keeping total added weight low for better daily drivability and suspension balance.
  • Winch-ready recovery platform – Integrated frame-mounted structure supports a 12,000 lb-class winch setup, with reinforced recovery points designed for real off-road extraction use rather than cosmetic protection.
  • High-clearance off-road geometry – The bumper significantly improves approach angle and front-end clearance, making it a strong upgrade for trail use, rocky terrain, and overland travel.
  • Bull bar protection with controlled rigidity – The integrated bull bar adds front-end shielding for brush, animals, and light impacts, while maintaining a low-profile design that doesn’t dominate the truck’s front end.
  • OEM+ integration focus – Designed to align with factory styling and systems, the bumper preserves a factory-clean appearance while upgrading functionality, which is a key selling point for newer Tacoma builds.
  • Lightweight advantage over full steel bumpers – At roughly ~86 lbs total system weight (with most OEM bumper weight offset), it avoids the heavy front-end sag common in full steel bumpers.

Q&A

Q: What is the Backwoods Adventure Hi-Lite Overland Front Bumper (BWTT4F-9865) for Toyota Tacoma 4th Gen?
A: A lightweight hybrid front bumper with bull bar designed for the 2024–2026 Toyota Tacoma that improves off-road protection, winch capability, and approach angle while keeping weight low.

Q: What makes this bumper different from standard steel bumpers?
A: It uses a hybrid steel + aluminum design—an aluminum outer shell paired with a steel winch cradle, delivering strength where needed while reducing overall weight and rust risk.

Q: Does it support a winch and recovery gear?
A: Yes. It includes an integrated steel winch mount and frame-tied recovery points designed for off-road pulling and recovery use.

Q: How heavy is the Hi-Lite bumper?
A: Around 86 lbs total, which is significantly lighter than most full steel bumpers and only adds a small net weight over stock once OEM parts are removed.

Q: What is the benefit of the bull bar version?
A: The bull bar adds extra front-end protection against animal strikes and trail obstacles while maintaining the high-clearance overland design.

Q: Is it suitable for daily driving?
A: Yes. It’s designed as a balance between daily usability and off-road performance, with a low-profile, aggressive look and improved clearance.

Q: Does installation require heavy modification?
A: It is a bolt-on system with frame-mounted structure, but like most aftermarket bumpers, some trimming of factory plastic may be required.

Maintenance Tips
  • Rinse after off-road trips: Remove mud, salt, and debris from bull bar, recovery points, and skid areas to prevent corrosion
  • Check mounting torque regularly: Re-tighten frame mounts and hardware after installation, towing, or heavy trail use
  • Inspect bull bar alignment: Ensure the hoop stays centered and secure after impacts or vibration-heavy driving
  • Protect powder coat finish: Touch up chips early, especially on exposed bull bar and leading edges
  • Keep winch & fairlead area clean: Clear packed dirt for safe line operation and recovery readiness
  • Check sensors & wiring (if equipped): Ensure fog lights, winch wiring, and connectors remain dry and undamaged
  • Avoid direct high-pressure spray: Especially around electrical components and mounting seams
  • Inspect after recovery use: Look for stress, bending, or loosened hardware after winching or towing pulls
  • Seasonal deep inspection: Verify all bolts, brackets, and weld zones before long overland trip
