Q&A

Q: What is the Edwards 20 Ton Radius Roller used for?
A: A hydraulic radius bending attachment that forms smooth, long‑diameter curves in flat bar, angle iron, pipe, tube, square tube, and channel.

Q: What materials and capacities can it handle?
A: It rolls medium to heavy metals including flat bar, angle iron, pipe, and tube; typical capacities include up to ~3″ flat bar, ~2″ angle iron, ~2″ pipe, and ~2½″ tube.

Q: How does it operate?
A: Powered by an Edwards Ironworker with a PowerLink™ system or a portable hydraulic power unit, it runs with variable‑speed hydraulic drive and easy hand/jog controls with integrated E‑Stop.

Q: Can it be repositioned for different projects?
A: Yes — the radius roller can be used horizontally or vertically and features a heavy‑duty rolling base for easy movement.

Q: What comes included?
A: Includes a 6‑piece universal die set for flat bar, channel, angle, and square tube; optional dies are available for round pipe, tube, or solid bar.

Q: Who should use this product?
A: Ideal for metal fabricators, weld shops, and industrial facilities needing accurate, smooth radius bends in heavy‑duty materials.

Q: Why choose this Edwards radius roller?
A: It combines strong 20‑ton force, versatile material capability, flexible orientation, and intuitive controls to improve productivity in metal forming workflows.

Maintenance Tips
  • Clean After Every Use – Remove metal shavings, dust, and debris from rollers and frame to prevent surface damage and ensure smooth operation.
  • Lubricate Moving Parts – Apply light machine oil to bearings, shafts, and pivot points to reduce friction and wear.
  • Inspect Rollers & Pins – Check for wear, cracks, or deformation to maintain precise radius bending and consistent results.
  • Check Alignment – Ensure rollers are properly aligned to prevent uneven bends or material slippage.
  • Tighten Mounting Hardware – Secure all bolts and fasteners to avoid vibration or misalignment during heavy bending.
  • Monitor Material Limits – Do not exceed the rated tonnage or material thickness to protect tooling and maintain accuracy.
  • Prevent Rust & Corrosion – Store in a dry environment and apply anti-corrosion coating when not in use.
