The Hitachi CP-X417 3LCD projector offers wireless connectivity and networking, allowing end-users to monitor multiple projectors from a remote location. The CP-X417 features built-in networking, allowing for the monitoring and managing of one or more projectors from a remote location. With Hitachi's proprietary PJ Man software, users can easily monitor the status of the projector (or many projectors), as power on/off, input source, lamp/filter hours and condition are all on display. Moreover, the software allows for control over these functions. Additionally, users can schedule power on/off events on an hourly, daily and weekly basis. Events can be applied to an individual or group of Hitachi projectors. Other features such as e-mail alerts for scheduled maintenance or error conditions, as well as password protection, give the user a new level of control at no extra charge. Weighing only 8.8 pounds, the Hitachi CP-X417 boasts 3,000 ANSI lumens of brightness and native XGA resolution. The CP-X417's 802.11 b/g wireless feature allows users to connect and present with 4 PCs simultaneously. Additionally, the CP-X417 offers two RGB inputs and one RGB output, as well as component, composite and S-Video inputs. A built-in 7-watt audio output is also available. Customizability is another strong feature of the CP-X417. Hitachi's proprietary My Screen software allows users to display preset images that appear upon powering up the projector. Additionally, the CP-X417's remote control contains Hitachi's My Buttons feature, giving users the ability to customize the buttons on the remote to suit their needs. The CP-X417 features a side-mounted high-performance filter and top door lamp for easy maintenance. Additional security features include a transition detector (a built-in sensor that recognizes when the projector has been moved), as well as a Kensington slot and security bar. The CP-X417 also has a low fan noise of 29 dB in Whisper Mode and a lamp life of 3,000 hours in Whisper Mode.
