The Makita 36V XPS02ZU 6-1/2" Plunge Cut Circular Saw is designed to deliver precise, accurate cuts when combined with a guide rail system. This saw uses two 18V LXT batteries (sold separately) to power its robust, brushless motor. It also features Automatic Speed Change Technology, which adjusts cutting speed and torque during the cut for optimum performance.
The 6-1/2" Circular Saw features a variable speed control dial that allows the user to set speeds between 2,500 - 6,300 RPM. It boasts a large 2-3/16" cutting capacity (at 90°), a bevel capacity of -1° to 48°, and positive stops at 22.5° and 45°. When used with a rail system, the 6-1/2" Plunge Circular Saw is a more portable option compared to a table saw. Use it in the workshop, the driveway, the jobsite, etc.
For improved efficiency, the XPS02ZU is AWS-capable, meaning it can wirelessly connect to an AWS-compatible Makita Dust Extractor. When the AWS-equipped tool is turned on, the AWS-equipped dust extractor also turns on. When the trigger of the tool is released and stops, the dust extractor stops as well. AWS is intelligent communication that eliminates cords and excessive noise since the dust extractor runs only when the tool is running.
This saw uses two 18V LXT batteries (sold separately). Each battery reaches a full charge in only 45 minutes on the efficient Rapid Optimum Charger (sold separately), the fastest charge-time in the category, for less downtime and increased productivity. For added convenience, the batteries feature an integrated LED charge level indicator. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls.
