Makita ConnectX, LXT, LXT X2 and XGT Portable Backpack Power Supply - PDC01

The Makita 18V LXT and LXT X2 portable backpack power supply is a portable power supply unit. The backpack utilizes four Lithium-Ion batteries to provide 4x the run time when used with Makita 18V LXT cordless products and double the run time when used with Makita 18V X2 LXT cordless products. The battery box can be detached from the harness for use as a stationary power supply. The backpack is connector cord compatible with the 18V LXT adapter or 18V X2 LXT adapter (191A53-7 and 191A52-9, sold separately). It’s part of Makita's expanding 18V LXT system, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18V Lithium-Ion batteries. Makita 18V Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls STAR Protection is communication technology that allows the star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating.

  • Broad System Compatibility — Works with ConnectX™, LXT®, LXT® X2 (36V) and 40V Max XGT® tools (with appropriate adapters), making it a versatile power hub across Makita platforms.

  • Smart Power Management — Integrated LED charge indicators let you monitor each battery’s status individually so you can plan work and swap batteries proactively.

  • Ergonomic & Durable Design — Adjustable harness, ergonomic belt, and rugged housing stand up to job‑site use and improve comfort during long workflows.

  • Stationary Power Option — Detachable battery pack can be used as a stationary power source, adding flexibility on workshops or remote sites.

  • Pro Tip: Pair with high‑capacity 18V LXT batteries for maximum runtime and reduce downtime on heavier tools or outdoor power tasks.

Maintenance Tips
  • Clean after use: Wipe the bar, chain, and housing to remove sawdust, sap, and debris that can affect cutting and lubrication.

  • Check & adjust chain tension: Before each use, ensure the chain has proper tension — not too loose or too tight — for safe, efficient cutting.

  • Keep bar oil topped up: Regularly check and refill the automatic bar oil reservoir to maintain optimal chain lubrication.

  • Sharpen the chain: Maintain a sharp chain to improve cutting speed and reduce strain on the motor. (General chainsaw practice)

  • Battery care: Fully charge the 40V Max XGT battery before use and store batteries in a cool, dry place to extend life.

  • Inspect guide bar & chain: Check for burrs, wear, or damage; flip the guide bar periodically for even wear. (General chainsaw practice)

  • Tool‑less adjustments: Use the saw’s “tool‑less” chain tensioning to simplify maintenance and adjust quickly onsite.

  • Safe storage: Remove the battery and store the saw away from moisture and extreme temperatures to protect electronics and steel components.
