Minelab GPX 6000 Metal Detector - 3300-0500-Gear

GeoSense-PI technology quickly and precisely analyses gold signals buried in the ground, so you'll be able to hear all gold pieces clearly. Small fragments to large nuggets and everything in between can be accurately located with this one detector.

With automatic features and an easy-to-use interface, you'll be an expert at finding gold from the moment you turn on your GPX 6000. Because Automatic Ground Balance continously adapts to changing soil conditions as you swing your detector over the ground, there's no need to adjust any settings. Finding gold has never been easier.

Weighs only 2.1 kg (4.6 lb), featuring light carbon fibre shafts, streamlined control box, and signature U-Flex armrest so you can detect for longer and feel comfortable doing it.

Tested in the harsh environments of the Australian outback, Africa and the Middle East, the GPX 6000 can withstand extreme heat and heavy rains. A 3-year warranty is included, backed by Minelab's global support.

11" and 14" included with purchase.

Coil options include a versatile 11" Monoloop coil for tight spaces and pinpointing tiny gold pieces, a 14" Double-D coil to detect gold accurately even in salty environments, and a 17" Monoloop coil to search areas faster and find big nuggets. All coils are waterproof to 1 m (3.3').

Whether listening with the loud and clear external speaker or the supplied wireless Bluetooth headphones, you'll never miss out on the sound of gold.

What our Experts Think
  • Elite Gold-Finding Performance: The Minelab GPX 6000 is engineered for serious prospectors, delivering exceptional sensitivity to both small and deep gold targets across challenging terrains.
  • Advanced GeoSense-PI Technology: Continuously analyzes ground signals to improve accuracy, reduce noise, and maximize target detection in highly mineralized soil.
  • Lightweight, All-Day Comfort: Designed with a balanced, ergonomic build that reduces fatigue, making it suitable for long prospecting sessions in remote locations.
  • Fast & Simple Operation: Intuitive interface and minimal setup time allow users to start detecting quickly without complex adjustments.
  • Superior Ground Handling: Excels in harsh goldfields where mineralization typically reduces performance in standard detectors.
  • Durable Field Construction: Built for rugged environments with strong resistance to dust, heat, and demanding outdoor conditions.

Q&A

Q: What is the Minelab GPX 6000?
A: The Minelab GPX 6000 is a high-performance gold detector designed for maximum sensitivity, depth, and ease of use in all gold prospecting conditions.

Q: What technology does the GPX 6000 use?
A: It features GeoSense-PI™ technology, which continuously analyzes ground conditions for improved stability and target detection accuracy.

Q: Is the GPX 6000 easy to use?
A: Yes, it is designed with simplified controls and automatic ground balancing, making it more user-friendly than earlier GPX models.

Q: How deep can it detect gold?
A: It is engineered for excellent depth on both small nuggets and larger deep targets, even in highly mineralized soil.

Q: Can it detect small gold nuggets?
A: Yes, it offers enhanced sensitivity to fine and small gold, improving recovery rates in challenging terrain.

Q: Does it work in highly mineralized ground?
A: Yes, it is optimized for difficult soil conditions such as iron-rich and mineral-heavy goldfields.

Q: Is it waterproof?
A: The search coil is waterproof, allowing operation in shallow water, but the control unit is not fully submersible.

Maintenance Tips
  • Wipe down coil, control box, and shaft after every use to remove dust, mud, and mineralized soil.
  • Clean coil gently; avoid abrasion to preserve sensitivity and housing integrity.
  • Avoid submerging the control box or battery pack; rinse coils only (waterproof), not electronics.
  • Ensure coil connector area stays dry and free of sand or grit buildup.
  • Inspect coil cable regularly for wear, cuts, or looseness—this is a key failure point.
  • Keep battery charged; store in a cool, dry place and avoid full discharge cycles.
  • Do not expose to extreme heat or leave in vehicles for long periods.
  • Avoid solvents, gasoline, or harsh chemicals; use a damp cloth with mild soap only.
  • Prevent sand accumulation in shaft locks, joints, and twist fittings; rinse and dry if needed.
  • Store disassembled in a protective case to prevent shaft stress and coil damage during transport.
  • Perform a quick system check (audio, coil response, settings) before each outing.
