RIKON 4″ X 6″ Metal Cutting Band Saw - 15-400

4″ x 6″ Metal Cutting Bandsaw #15-400 is designed to cut as a horizontal bow saw but will also operate as a vertical bandsaw when a table (included) is installed. Three blade speeds of 80, 120 and 180 feet per minute are ideal for optimizing cut performance in brass alloys up to stainless steel. Miter angle cuts are possible up to 45°. The blade can be fed into the material manually or controlled automatically and hands-free with a spring-assist torsion system. When a cutting operation in completed the saw will automatically shut off.

Features
  • Powerful 3/4HP Motor.
  • Cuts 4″ x 6″ Square & 4-1/2″ Round Stock.
  • Built-in Vise Clamps 0- 45°.
  • Auto-Off Safety Paddle Switch.
  • Can be used as a Horizontal Bandsaw.
What our Experts Think
  • Versatile 2-in-1 design: The RIKON 4″ X 6″ Metal Cutting Band Saw - 15-400 works as both a horizontal metal-cutting bandsaw and a vertical bandsaw with the included table—making it ideal for fabrication shops, maintenance teams, and serious DIY users who need flexibility.

  • Reliable cutting power: A 3/4 HP TEFC motor provides consistent torque for cutting common metals—from aluminum and brass to tougher materials like stainless steel.

  • Optimized blade speeds for metalwork: With three selectable speeds (80, 120, and 180 FPM), users can match blade speed to material hardness for cleaner cuts and longer blade life.

  • Solid cutting capacity: Capable of cutting 4″ × 6″ rectangular stock or 4-1/2″ round stock, making it well-suited for small fabrication projects, structural pieces, and shop work.

  • Hands-free operation for productivity: The spring-assist torsion feed system allows automatic, controlled cutting while the saw shuts off automatically when the cut is finished.

  • Precision miter capability: The built-in vise supports 0°–45° miter cuts, enabling accurate angled cuts for frames, brackets, and fabrication tasks.

  • Durable shop-ready construction: A rugged cast-iron bed and frame provide stability and vibration control—important for consistent metal cutting accuracy

Maintenance Tips
  • Disconnect Power First: Always unplug the saw before cleaning, blade changes, or adjustments to prevent accidents.

  • Clean Metal Chips Regularly: Use a brush or shop vacuum to remove metal filings and debris from the cutting area and blade guides after use to maintain cutting accuracy.

  • Check Blade & Guide Bearings: Inspect blade tension, tracking, and guide bearings frequently to ensure smooth operation and reduce premature wear.

  • Change Gearbox Oil: Replace gearbox oil with ISO VG 220 gear oil after the first 90 days of operation and then every 6 months for optimal performance.

  • Protect Metal Surfaces: Wipe the machine with a clean cloth and apply light machine oil to unpainted parts to prevent rust and corrosion.

  • Inspect Before Each Use: Check the power cord, hardware, and clamps for damage or looseness to maintain safe and reliable operation.
