Fanuc Corporation GE FANUC 10-Slot Modular CPU Baseplate - Fanuc Corporation

The IC693CHS391 is a Series 90-30 component that is manufactured by GE Fanuc. This is a 10-slot Modular CPU baseplate. This baseplate hosts the CPU slot, non-CPU or I/O slots, Power supply and I/O expansion bus port. It also hosts the local electronic backplane to power the attached modules. Only One (1) CPU baseplate can be installed in a system, other baseplate permitted are expansion or remote I/O baseplate.

Information About IC693CHS391
The IC693CHS391 is a Modular CPU baseplate. This baseplate is part of the Series 90-30 that is manufactured by GE Fanuc. This device houses the connection ports, allowing modular CPUs, I/O modules and Power supply module installation. It has a total of Ten (10) slots with One (1) slot assigned to the CPU and Nine (9) slots for the I/O modules. Power supply slot is not included in the slot count as well as the bus expansion port.

Since this is a modular CPU slot, it is by default assigned with a node address of 0 which can be modified through the programming software. Only One (1) modular CPU slot is supported by a system. Other slots in the system could be expansion or remote I/O baseplates.

Power supply is installed to the left most slot which is not included in the counting of slots, allowing more I/O to be supported by this baseplate. CPU is installed only the Slot 1 as this slot is especially sized for CPU connection or special option module such as the FIP Bus Remote I/O scanner. Slot number 2 and higher are particularly sized for I/O or option modules. Expansion or remote I/O basesplate are connected through the expansion port at the right most portion of the baseplate. Depending on the CPU hosted by the IC693CHS391, up to Four (4) or Seven (7) expansion baseplates are supported by the IC693CHS391 Modular CPU baseplate. This baseplate supports panel mounting only, fastened by screws and washers through the mounting holes provided.

The IC693CHS391 baseplate is a GE Fanuc manufactured expansion baseplate equipped with ten slots. It runs with a current rating of 420 mA and it has a voltage rating of 5 Volts DC. It is equipped with a DIP switch. The expansion base plate is connected to the Series 90-30 PLCs along with other modules. A power supply module is plugged into the left slot the baseplate. The IC693CHS391 baseplate is modular in size and it has an open enclosure. It can be easily installed and replaced or changed to a different type if an extra feature is required. A power supply port is present on the left side of the plate along with connectivity slots for CPU and non-CPU slots. It also has a 25-pin female connector present on the right hand side for connecting expansion and remote baseplates.

To be connected with a remote baseplate, the IC693CHS391 expansion baseplate requires a cable with a length of less than 700 feet. The baseplate cannot be used as a single entity. It can either be connected to a PLC device or a personal computer that is using a PCI card. It can connect to up to 7 CPUs at a time depending on the model of the CPUs that are used. The IC693CHS391 baseplate can be mounted either vertically or horizontally depending on the layout of the PLC or the CPU. The environmental temperature should always be in the specified range. The plate should be kept away from water splashes and sources of dust, dirt, and harmful chemicals. The IC693CHS391 baseplate is certified by several global environmental and industrial standards.
