Fanuc Corporation Ge Fanuc Remote I/O Input/Output Scanner Module - IC697BEM733

IC697BEM733 is a Genius Remote I/O Scanner for the GE 90-70 Series that mounts in a remote IC697 rack and interfaces IC697 I/O modules to an IC66* bus. Features include a location distance of 7500 feet or 2275 meters from the controller. It supports both discrete and analog I/O modules as well as PCM, ADS, and analog expander modules. The IC697BEM733 can handle up to 128 input/output bytes per remote drop (comprised of a remote I/O scanner and the corresponding modules). A remote drop can include a maximum of eight racks, which are linked by a bus transmitter and a bus receiver. Racks with 9 or 5 slots are appropriate. The distance from the first rack to the last in a remote drop is no more than 50 feet or 15 meters.

Information About IC697BEM733

The IC697BEM733 scanner can accommodate numerous combinations of discrete and analog inputs and outputs regardless of the number of racks in the drop. A remote drop can include all available IC697 discrete modules, analog modules, and analog expander modules. Bus Transmitter, Bus Receiver, PCM, and ADS modules can also be located in a remote drop. It is important to note, however, that a remote drop cannot have any I/O module interrupts, bus controllers, communications modules, or other modules dependent upon COMREQ instructions. The IC697BEM733 is designed for use in an IC697 PLC system, but any type of PLC or computer able to control an IC66* bus can function as host.

The GE Fanuc IC697BEM733 Series 90-70 Genius Remote I/O Scanner is a solid-state, microprocessor-based, industrial automation computer specifically designed for monitoring the status of PLC I/O modules and performing the data exchange between the system’s central processing unit and the field-facing circuitry. This scanner is compatible with the GE Fanuc IC697, IC600, and the IC655 series PLCs as well as with a PC with a PCI card. The GE Fanuc IC697BEM733 Genius Remote I/O Scanner is easy to configure by using a GE IC66 Handheld Monitor and it connects to the main PLC by using a GE IC66 serial communication bus. When installing the Genius Remote I/O Scanner in a given PLC application, it is always necessary to locate it in rack 0, slot one, right beside the main CPU.

The GE Fanuc IC697BEM733 Genius Remote I/O Scanner offers the possibility of remotely connecting additional module connection racks and incorporating them into the PLC system by using the serial communication bus. Up to 8 additional racks can be incorporated into a PLC by using the GE Fanuc IC697BEM733 Genius Remote I/O Scanner. Hot-swap operations are not allowed with these I/O scanners, so before connecting or disconnecting them from the control network, make sure the power supply's voltage is off. The data transmission rate is up to 38.4 Kbaud and the data can be transmitted over a maximum distance of 7500 feet (2286 meters). The environmental protection rating of this scanner is IP 20, which means it should be installed in a protective enclosure with temperature and humidity control if possible.
