Maintenance Tips
  • Clean Condenser Coils – Inspect and clean the condenser coils every 1-2 months using a vacuum or soft brush to prevent dust buildup that can reduce cooling efficiency.
  • Check Door Seals – Examine the door gaskets regularly for any cracks, dirt, or wear. Clean the seals with warm, soapy water to ensure a tight seal and prevent cold air loss.
  • Maintain Optimal Temperature – Keep the prep station at 34°F - 40°F for food safety. Use a thermometer to verify the temperature is consistent and accurate.
  • Wipe Down the Interior – Clean the interior surfaces, including shelves and food pans, with mild detergent and warm water to remove spills, food particles, and bacteria. Dry thoroughly to prevent mold.
  • Defrost Regularly – If you notice ice buildup, defrost the unit to improve cooling performance. Excess ice can restrict airflow and cause temperature fluctuations.
  • Inspect and Clear Drain Lines – Ensure the drain lines are clear and free from blockages. Clean them periodically with warm water to prevent water buildup inside the unit.
  • Keep Air Vents Unobstructed – Make sure the vents inside the unit are not blocked to allow proper airflow for optimal cooling efficiency.
  • Clean the Stainless Steel Exterior – Wipe down the stainless steel exterior regularly with a non-abrasive cleaner to maintain its appearance and prevent stains.
  • Monitor for Unusual Sounds – Pay attention to any strange noises coming from the compressor or fan. If you notice any irregular sounds, it could indicate a need for maintenance.
  • Annual Professional Inspection – Schedule an annual inspection with a qualified technician to ensure refrigerant levels are correct, the compressor is functioning properly, and the unit is operating efficiently.
