Vibe Kayak Riot Mako 10 Angler - mako10angler-C-D

The Mako 10 was created with adventure in mind. This pedal kayak was designed to perform well on flat water or big water for fishing, photography or as a dive platform. Our Impulse Drive pedal unit is the simplest and the lightest on the market, open to the elements yet requiring no special maintenance. Our Comfort Seat, adjustable for leg length and with a high supportive back, is comfortable and quick to dry, and the rudder steering box can be placed on either side to suit your preference. The Mako series is available in 10’, 12’ and 14’ models with more to come.

What our Experts Think
  • The Riot Mako 10 Angler is built as a lightweight pedal-drive fishing kayak, making it especially appealing for anglers who want hands-free mobility for casting and lure control.
  • Its Impulse Drive pedal system is praised for being simple, low-maintenance, and reversible, giving solid forward and reverse control for positioning while fishing.
  • Experts highlight its strong stability for its size, with a wide, confidence-inspiring platform that supports both seated fishing and light stand-up casting in calm to moderate waters.
  • The kayak is equipped with purpose-built angling features, including multiple rod holders, gear tracks, and integrated storage hatches for tackle and essentials.
  • The adjustable high-back seat system is designed for long sessions, improving comfort and reducing fatigue during extended fishing trips.
  • Industry reviewers often position it as a value-focused entry-to-mid level pedal fishing kayak—not the fastest or most premium build, but highly functional for its price class and easy to transport.
  • Best suited for anglers fishing lakes, slow rivers, and sheltered coastal water, especially those prioritizing affordability, pedal efficiency, and fishing utility over speed or premium materials.

Maintenance Tips
  • Rinse thoroughly with fresh water after every use (especially pedal drive, rudder system, and rod holders) to remove salt, sand, and debris
  • Dry completely before storage to prevent mold, odor, and internal moisture buildup
  • Store out of direct sunlight or use a UV cover to prevent plastic fading and hull weakening
  • Avoid dragging the kayak—carry or use a cart to prevent hull scratches and structural wear
  • Inspect regularly: rudder cables, seat, handles, and pedal drive for looseness or damage; tighten or replace early
  • Clean with mild soap only when needed; avoid harsh chemicals that damage polyethylene
  • Lubricate moving parts (pedal drive & rudder system) occasionally for smooth operation
  • Store properly (side or supported hull) to avoid warping under long-term pressure
  • Check hatches and seals to keep storage areas dry and debris-free
