VENTAHOOD 42" Under Cabinet Range Hood - SLAH6K42

Utilizing a proprietary 4 phase technology and the Power Lung, the Vent-A-Hood ARS series is ideal for light residential cooking where venting is not an option. Soft cut corners of the patented Emerald lip yield a contemporary feel. Making this 6" tall ultimate replacement hood features our exclusive Power Lung and "draft Canopy" technology, which captures cooking vapors from all areas of the canopy. Includes the Power Lung Blower. Click on the models for a list of our base model numbers for standard sizes; simply select the model you need, and then specify the finish [painted or stainless steel]. Not available in real brass, real copper, or hammered copper. Recommended mounting height is 21" - 24" above the cooking surface. ARS filter assembly sold separately.

What our Experts Think
  • Effective Everyday Ventilation
Features the Power Lung blower with draft Canopy technology for 250 CFM airflow (≈ 375 CFM equivalent), capturing vapors across the full canopy without heavy, inefficient filters — ideal for light to moderate cooking.

  • Quiet, Balanced Operation
Designed with a 7.4 sones sound rating at high speed, this under‑cabinet hood balances effective extraction with reasonable noise levels.

  • Clean, Low‑Maintenance Design
Filter‑less operation avoids typical mesh or baffle filters, reducing ongoing cleaning and upkeep. Grease collects in a removable tray for easy maintenance.

  • Functional Lighting & Contemporary Styling
Includes three LED GU10 lights to illuminate the cooktop and a sleek 6" profile that fits standard cabinetry.

  • Flexible Installation
Supports both top vent and back vent ducting, with a recommended mounting height of 21"–24" above the cooking surface for optimal capture.

  • Balanced Performance Positioning
Not ENERGY STAR rated, but well‑suited for users seeking dependable airflow, simpler upkeep, and classic under‑cabinet integration in everyday kitchens.

Maintenance Tips
  • Weekly Surface Clean: Wipe exterior with warm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth; dry thoroughly to prevent streaks and spots.

  • Grease Control: Regularly clean the underside and interior to remove grease buildup that can reduce performance.

  • Filter Maintenance: Remove and wash grease filters often (dishwasher safe if applicable) to maintain strong airflow and odor removal.

  • Use Gentle Cleaners: Avoid abrasive pads, steel wool, bleach, or harsh chemicals that can scratch or damage surfaces.

  • Polish Occasionally: Use a non‑abrasive cleaner to keep the finish looking new.

  • Safety First: Always turn off power and ensure the hood is cool before cleaning.
