Maintenance Tips
  • Regular Cleaning: Clean the chamber, trays, and door seal after each use using a soft cloth and mild detergent to prevent residue buildup and contamination.
  • Inspect the Door Seal: Check the door seal for any cracks or wear. Replace the seal if necessary to ensure a proper seal during the sterilization process.
  • Descaling: Perform descaling as needed, especially if using hard water. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for proper descaling procedures to prevent mineral buildup inside the chamber.
  • Water Quality: Use distilled or deionized water to reduce mineral deposits that could affect performance and lead to premature wear of internal components.
  • Check the Pressure Gauge: Regularly monitor the pressure gauge and ensure it’s functioning correctly. Calibration may be needed for accurate readings.
  • Lubricate Moving Parts: Apply a non-oily lubricant to any moving parts, such as the door mechanism or valves, to ensure smooth operation and prevent rust or wear.
  • Drain and Clean Water Reservoir: Empty and clean the water reservoir regularly to prevent bacterial growth or mineral buildup. Refill with fresh distilled water before each cycle.
  • Check for Leaks: Inspect the door, vents, and seals for any signs of leaks. Address any leaks immediately to avoid sterilization failures.
  • Run Test Cycles: Perform routine sterilization and vacuum tests to ensure the autoclave is reaching the desired temperature and pressure.
  • Annual Maintenance: Have the autoclave serviced by a professional annually to ensure all internal components are functioning properly and to extend the lifespan of the unit.
