Carolina Coops Custom-Made Cupola - GBR-CUP-BKR

We make handcrafted cupolas to adorn the top of your Carolina Coop, custom designed chicken coop, or your own chicken coop. Now made with Acre. The structure of the cupola is made with premium Douglas fir and the base is made with Acre, which is weather, water, and pest resistant.

It’s the perfect finishing touch to add distinction to your coop. It also adds even more of the much-needed ventilation inside the henhouse.

A side gable is a basic pitched roof with two equal panels or sides pitched at an angle. Both sides of the gable meet at the ridge in the middle of a building.

The dimensions of the cupola are 13″ x 13″ x 18″.

Maintenance Tips
  • Regular Cleaning – Clean the cupola regularly to remove dirt, debris, and bird droppings from the roof and vents to maintain airflow and prevent blockages.
  • Inspect for Damage – Check the structure for any signs of wear, cracks, or damage, particularly around seams and joints, and repair as needed.
  • Roof Inspection – Ensure the roof is watertight and free from leaks by checking the shingles or materials for wear, especially after harsh weather.
  • Ventilation Check – Ensure vents are not clogged with leaves or debris to maintain proper airflow through the coop.
  • Lubricate Moving Parts – If your cupola has any moving parts, such as a rotating roof or adjustable vents, lubricate them periodically with a non-toxic lubricant to ensure smooth operation.
  • Check the Structure – Inspect the base and mounting of the cupola to ensure it is securely attached to the coop and hasn't shifted or loosened over time.
  • Paint or Stain – Apply a fresh coat of weather-resistant paint or stain every 1-2 years to protect the wood from the elements and extend the life of the cupola.
  • Pest Control – Keep an eye out for pests or nests inside the cupola and remove them to maintain ventilation and hygiene.
  • Monitor for Rust or Corrosion – If your cupola has metal components, inspect for any signs of rust or corrosion, and treat them immediately to prevent damage.
  • Seasonal Maintenance – Before winter, check for any gaps or leaks that could cause issues with moisture buildup. In summer, ensure proper ventilation is maintained for airflow.
