This Nemco 55800 Easy Tuna Press is designed to open a can of tuna and allow the lid to remain inside the can. It is easy to use, allowing operators to finish opening and draining the can in just a few simple steps. Simply hang the press on the side of the sink and turn the crank counterclockwise to its full "up" position. After opening the can of tuna allow the lid to remain inside the lid. Once this is in place, hold the lid in place and pour the water out of the can. Invert the can, placing the upside side down into the base then turn the crank clockwise to apply a load to the can. It should be cranked 6 to 8 times or until snug. Once this is done, it only takes a few minutes for the water to nearly finish the draining process.
Operators can turn the crank down to reapply the pressure and hold for about five more seconds to fully get the moisture out. Then turn the crank back to it's full "up" position. By placing both hands over the open end of the can to retain the lid, operators can then lift the drained can of tuna off of the machine.
This operation is simple and easy to complete. It also ensures your foodservice establishment is meeting the needs of health-conscious consumers, removing excess water from tuna for sandwiches, salads, dinner entrees and more.
